If the blood flow in the body remains correct, then the body gets warmth. When the blood circulation is reduced, oxygen does not reach the skin of the feet.

Due to low blood flow, the feet start to look light blue as well as light blue. This indication is that the right amount of blood is not reaching your feet.

If thyroid hormones are reduced in the body (hypothyroidism) then metabolism slows down. This causes blood circulation, heart beat and body temperature to get disturbed and the feet remain cold.

Anemia means that the legs remain cold even when there is anemia. Lack of iron, folate or vitamin B12 can increase this problem. The same happens in those living on kidney disease or dialysis.
