Madhubala and Dilip Kumar starrer Mughal-e-Azam was released on August 5, 1960 and became a film that set new benches of grandeur.

• Of. Directed by Asif, Mughal-e-Azam also starred veteran artists like Prithviraj Kapoor and Durga Khote, whose strong acting touched the hearts of the audience.
• At the same time, composure music by Naushad became the soul of this film. Amidst all this, “Pyaar kya to darna kya” emerged as a masterpiece.
• The song, written by Shakeel Badayuni and sung by Lata Mangeshkar, revealed the essence of rebellion and love in such a way that it became immortal in the history of Indian cinema.

• So Lata Mangeshkar recorded it in the bathroom to bring the desired depth in his voice. The song was changed 105 times before the final version was approved.

Hardly shot ‘What is love if you love
It took 14 years to build ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ released in 1960. It took two years to become a set of a song from the film. The song was ‘Jab Pyaar Kiya Darna Kya’. When the actress Madhubala dances in the song, she is seen in all the heads in the palace, but it was not easy to film. At one time it was almost impossible to create this scene.

Experts were also called from Hollywood, but they also refused. The matter reached the breaking of Sheesh Mahal, built for Rs 15 lakh, but then cinematographer RD Mathur solved it. As soon as the camera was installed, its light would fall on the glass. Reflectors were installed to stop it, but when the lights fell on them, the eyes would go dazzled and the shooting would become difficult. Mathur found a corner on the set with his camera, where the light was jumping. No reflection was being made from there. Then Madhubala was seen walking in colored glasses disguised as Anarkali and it became an iconic scene of Hindi cinema.
