But the last Friday of Ramadan is called Goodbye Jumma or Jumatul Vida. The day of Alvida Jumma is more special for Muslims.

Goodbye Friday on the 23rd day of fasting!

Alvida Jumma is celebrated on the last Friday of the month of Ramadan. According to Islamic religious leaders, this time the Goodbye Jumma prayers will be offered on the 23rd fast of Ramzan i.e. on March 13, 2026. If for some reason Eid will not take place on March 20, then Jumatul Vida prayers will be offered again on the next Friday on March 20.

Why is there confusion?

Actually, the decision whether Ramadan will be of 29 days or 30 days is taken only after the sighting of the new moon. If this time the moon of Shawwal is visible on March 19, then Ramadan will last for 29 days, in such a situation, March 13 will be the last Friday of Ramadan. If Shawwal moon is not visible on March 19, then March 20 will be the last Friday of Ramadan and Eid will be celebrated on Saturday. Due to this confusion, fasting people will offer Jumatul Vida prayers on March 13. When the 30 fasts are completed, the Alvida Jumma namaz will be offered again on March 20, which will be a reward from Allah.

Importance of Goodbye Jumma

The last Friday of Ramzan i.e. Jumma Ramzan-ul-Mubarak has great significance in Islam. Goodbye Jumma marks the farewell to Ramadan, reminding the fasting people that even though Ramadan is about to end. But the way people exercised restraint, good deeds and worship throughout the month should never end. On Goodbye Jumma, many people pay Zakat and Sadaqah after Namaz, which is considered a rewarding act.
