Census was started during British rule in India. It was a matter of 1872 when the census started. After this, the British also included caste information during the census till 1931.

In the year 2010, a large number of MPs demanded caste census. At that time there was a Congress government in the country. She agreed for this and the census took place in 2011.

But the figures taken during this period were not made public. It is said that during this time there were many flaws in caste data.

Actually, a large population had chosen different ways of identity of their caste. When someone mentioned the sub -caste, the community was identified as a caste.

In the year 2022, the Central Government talked about it in Parliament. The government said that the government has no plan to release caste census data in 2011.

At the same time, in an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court in the year 2021, the Central Government had said that the caste census in the year 2011 had many flaws.

There were a lot of mistakes in the caste census figures in 2011 and it was unusable.
