Rajasthan Royals (RR) suddenly decided to change the captain in the middle of IPL 2026. On May 9 (Saturday), the teams of Rajasthan and Gujarat Titans are on the field in the 52nd match of the season. In this match, Rajasthan’s regular captain Riyan Parag was seen out of the playing eleven. In place of Parag, young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal came on the field for the toss as captain. During the toss against Gujarat, captain Yashasvi Jaiswal told why the regular captain of Rajasthan is not playing in the match. Actually, in the last match, Riyan Parag had a hamstring problem, due to which he could not be a part of the team’s playing 11 in the match.

When will Riyan Parag return?

Further, Jaiswal told that he will return soon. However, Jaiswal did not tell after how many matches he can return to the field. Apart from this, no further details were given regarding how serious the injury is.

Riyan Parag is struggling with his poor form in the current season. He played 10 matches, batting in 10 innings and scored only 207 runs at an average of 23. In these 10 innings, only one fifty has come from his bat. His form is continuously becoming a tension for the team.

If we look at Parag’s IPL career, he has played 94 matches. Batting in 82 innings of these matches, Parag has scored 1773 runs at an average of 25.69 and strike rate of 142.06.
