A shocking case has come to light from China, where a court in Southern China sentenced a woman to imprisonment. The woman is accused of accidentally killing her daughter while performing an exorcism ritual.

According to a report by South China Morning Post, the court of Shenzhen in Guangdong province in July sentenced a woman named Li to 3 years in prison, which was later suspended for 4 years. The woman’s elder daughter was also sentenced. The court had given this decision in July on the charge of murder by negligence.

Prosecutors said Lee and her two daughters were influenced by superstitious beliefs about hauntings. They believed that demons were attacking them and that their souls had been sold. In December last year, his younger daughter suddenly said that she was possessed by a demon and appealed to her mother and sister to perform an exorcism.

Five days after the surgery, the color of the woman’s ears started turning purple-black. This meant that there was a problem with blood flow. To save her, the doctors did manual bloodletting about 500 times in five days, meanwhile the woman’s scalp was repaired by grafting skin from her stomach.

Ear reattached after months

About five months later, when the position of the woman’s head and face had stabilized and the swelling had gone down, doctors reattached the ear to its original position in a six-hour long and complex surgery in October. The woman, whose name has been given as Sun, has now been discharged from the hospital. His face has become normal to a great extent.
