Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made a big announcement regarding education and women empowerment in the General Budget 2026-27. The government has announced to build a girls hostel in every district of the country. Its objective is to provide safe and convenient accommodation to girl students and working women coming from remote and rural areas. Girl students will get safe and easy accommodation

This announcement made in the budget is expected to provide great relief to those girls who go to study outside their homes, especially in cities, for higher education. Currently, due to lack of girls hostel facilities in many districts, girl students have to travel 40 to 50 kilometers daily or live in unsafe conditions in rented rooms. The construction of new hostels will provide them the facility to live in a safe environment. Apart from this, the announcement of girls hostel will also benefit the girl students doing courses like Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. According to education experts, if the housing problem is resolved, the admission of girls in science, technology, engineering and mathematics courses can increase. The Education Ministry was already working on this scheme, which has now been approved through the budget.

Target to increase enrollment to 50 percent by 2035

Under the new education policy, the government has set a target of increasing the enrollment of girl students in higher education by 50 percent. At present this figure is around 29 percent. The government believes that the construction of girls’ hostels in Haryana will increase the participation of girls in higher education and will help in achieving this goal.

Working women will also benefit

The benefits of this scheme will not be limited to girl students only. Women coming for jobs from other districts will also be able to get the facility to stay in these hostels. This will provide safe housing to women and make it easier for them to choose better employment opportunities. The Finance Minister said in the budget speech that development, inclusion and social empowerment have been given priority in this year’s budget. Construction of girls hostels in every district is being considered an important step in this direction, which will strengthen the participation of women in both education and employment sectors.

Today, the day of Friday (September 12) is going to be special for crores of sisters of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will release the 28th installment of Ladli Bahna Yojana with a single click during the state level program at Petlavad in Jhabua district. This time 1250 rupees will be reached directly in the account of 1.26 crore sisters.

In the program, not only the dear sisters, but also those who get social security pension will get a big gift. An amount of more than Rs 320.89 crore will be transferred to the accounts of more than 53.48 lakh pension beneficiaries. The government says that this will directly benefit the elderly, widows and other needy.

Help of Rs 450 for gas refill

Women will also get relief from rising prices of LPG. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will send Rs 450 as gas refill assistance to the account of more than 31 lakh sisters on the same day. This help will be provided under both PM Ujjwala Yojana and non-Ujjwala scheme. According to the government, an amount of more than Rs 48 crore will be transferred to single click.

1500 rupees installment from Bhai Dooj

The wait for Ladli sisters to get 1500 rupees every month is no longer long. CM Mohan Yadav has already announced that from Bhai Dooj i.e. 23 October 2025, every sister will start getting an installment of Rs 1500. This time, there is every possibility of coming to the accounts of Rs 1500 directly as 29th installment on Bhai Dooj.

The government had also given gifts to the sisters on Rakshabandhan. At that time, under the 27th installment, Rakshabandhan Shagun of Rs 1250 and Rs 250 was transferred.

Explain that this scheme is considered one of the most ambitious schemes of Madhya Pradesh government. Initially, this amount started from Rs 1000, now it has now increased to Rs 1250 and will soon reach Rs 1500. The government claims that women are able to fulfill their needs with this amount and gradually becoming financially self-sufficient.
