Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not including women journalists in the press conference organized by Afghanistan Foreign Minister Aamir Khan Muttaki in Delhi on Friday (October 10). Rahul said that when the Prime Minister remains silent on such discrimination, it gives a message of weakness and insensitivity towards the women of the entire country.

Rahul Gandhi wrote on Twitter, “Modi ji, when you allow women journalists to be thrown out of any public event, you are telling every woman in the country that you are weak in standing up for them. In our country, women have the right to equal participation in every field. Your silence on such discrimination exposes the hollowness of your slogans of ‘women power’.”

What did the Foreign Ministry say?

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has clarified that the Ministry had no interference or role in the press conference organized by the Afghan Foreign Minister in Delhi on October 10. The ministry also said that it was not MEA’s decision to not include women journalists in this press interaction.

Opposition raised questions

Political turmoil in the country intensified after the news of women journalists not being included in the press conference of the Afghan Foreign Minister. Former Home Minister P. Chidambaram said that when women journalists were kept out, male journalists should have immediately staged a walkout in protest. Chidambaram wrote on

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi as to why the government allowed this humiliating situation. He wrote, “Prime Minister Modi ji, please clarify why women journalists were removed from the Taliban minister’s press conference? Are your claims of women’s rights just election slogans?”

TMC MP Mahua Moitra called it an “insult to every Indian woman” and said, “The government has insulted every woman in the country by allowing the Taliban minister to keep out women journalists. This is a shameful and spineless move.”

On the occasion of Air Force Day, we salute those brave warriors who protect from the sky of India. Especially those brave men and women of the Indian Air Force whose bravery enables our country to fly safe and high.

Woman’s strength seen on screen
Saluting these brave warriors, it is also important that we remember the actresses who brought their courage and dedication alive by wearing uniforms on the big screen. These actresses have set a new examples of women power, perseverance and patriotism in Indian cinema through their role.

Jahnavi Kapoor – Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl
Gunjan Saxena: Jahnavi Kapoor played the best role of his career in The Kargil Girl. She was in the film as a flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena, who was one of the first female combat pilots in India. In this film on the background of Kargil war, Jahnavi alive the story of a female that made her place in the male dominated world. His emotional and powerful acting became inspiration.

Deepika Padukone – Fighter
In the film ‘Fighter’, Deepika Padukone touched the heights of the sky as Squadron Leader Minal Rathore. His outpating personality, action scene and his physical dedication scenes put life in this role. This role of Deepika was not only a mix of Shakti and Emotions, but also a true tribute to the brave spirit of the Indian Air Force.

Kangana Ranaut – Tejas
Fearless and Joshi Kangana Ranaut played the role of a brave pilot of the Indian Air Force in the film ‘Tejas’. His role in the film goes on a dangerous mission and Kangana had killed this role with her strong confidence. He put the spirit of those unseen defenders of the Indian sky on screen well.

Rakul Preet Singh – Runway 34
In the film ‘Runway 34’, Rakul Preet Singh left a deep impression as pilot officer Tanya Albuquerque. Even though the film was focused on Civil Aviation, Rakul’s role showed how important the discipline balance and courage is in the pilot profession. His acting added both strength and emotional depth in the film.

Sonam Kapoor – Neerja
In ‘Neerja’, Sonam Kapoor played the role of Neerja Bhanot, who was not only a brave flight attendant, but she also sacrificed her life to save the lives of 359 pacers. Sonam’s restrained and expressive acting immortalized Neerja’s valor and compassion. This is the reason why this film became a true example of Nari Shakti and humanity.
