India GDP Forecasts: The impact of American high tariffs may seem limited at present, but if the situation continues then its widespread impact may be visible next year. The World Bank, in its latest forecast released on Tuesday, said that in the financial year 2026-27, India’s economic growth rate (GDP Growth Rate) may decrease by 20 basis points and it may remain at 6.2 percent.

Reforms need to be implemented soon

However, Franziska Onsorz, Chief Economist of the World Bank’s South Asia region, has increased her estimate for the current financial year by 20 basis points and called it 6.5 percent. He says that this strength has been seen due to higher than expected growth of 7.8 percent in the April-June quarter.

Onsorge said in an interview to The Indian Express that the Indian government needs to quickly implement structural reforms, so that the possible impact of US high tariffs can be reduced. He said that at present the government is making efforts at many levels. Labor market reforms are urgently needed and should be implemented at the grassroots level. Besides, discussions are also going on on trade agreements, which indicates that the government is working rapidly to improve the business environment.

What did RBI say in the forecast?

The World Bank’s estimate is lower than the forecast of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). In its latest assessment released on October 1, RBI had estimated the GDP growth rate for the financial year 2025-26 at 6.8 percent, which shows an increase of 30 basis points.

The central bank said in its six-month monetary policy report that if the monsoon remains normal and there is no external or policy shock, then the GDP growth rate may be 6.6 percent in the financial year 2026-27.

World Bank on India’s GDP: A relief news has come out for India between global economic challenges and the high tariffs of America. The World Bank has increased India’s economic growth estimate to 6.5 percent for FY 2026. Earlier this estimate was kept at 6.3 percent. The World Bank says that the pace of the Indian economy will remain strong due to the higher increase in domestic consumption, good performance of the agriculture sector, and improvement in rural wages.

Slight decrease in next year’s growth rate

However, the World Bank has warned that the impact of a 50 percent high tariff of 50 percent on Indian exports by the US will appear in the coming years. For this reason, the GDP growth estimate for FY 2026-27 has been reduced to 6.3 percent.

According to the World Bank’s South Asia Development Update report, South Asia’s total growth rate is expected to be reduced from 6.6 percent to 5.8 percent in 2026-27 in 2024-25. The report states that this decline is associated with regional uncertainty due to trade obstacles, technical changes, and the rapid emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Possible impact of tariff on India

The report said that India’s domestic conditions are currently better – especially agricultural production, rural increment, and GST reforms have strengthened economic activities. However, the report also added that about 75 percent of the goods exported to the US from India can have a negative impact on the growth rate in future.

Other major conclusions

Despite a slight fall in the growth rate of South Asia, it will still be stronger than other emerging markets and EMDES.

According to the report, inflation is likely to remain within the target scope of the Reserve Bank of India in the near future.

Overall, the latest assessment of the World Bank shows that India’s economy remains flexible on the strength of strong domestic demand, but American tariffs and global economic uncertainty may slow down its speed in the coming times.

Pakistan’s economic condition has become so bad that it has to beg for debt every month. Now he is going to get a loan of $ 544 million again. For this, he had appealed to the World Bank (World Bank) and Asian Development Bank (ADB), which has received approval. This loan has been taken by Pakistan in the name of education, strengthening women financially and empowering them.

The World Bank has approved a $ 194 million loan for Pakistan on Wednesday (June 25, 2025) and signed a $ 350 million loan agreement with ADB to promote women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment.

According to the report of Pakistani news channel Sama TV, Pakistan has received this loan under two projects from the World Bank, which will be used to give children new opportunities for education in Balochistan province and to strengthen water security. World Bank director Negi Beheshin in Pakistan said that the objective of the project is to improve education system for children deprived of education in Balochistan.

Negi Beheshin also said that the water security project will help Balochistan to deal with climate change. The World Bank also says that the infrastructure in Balochistan and investment on human development will create employment opportunities in the province.

According to the report of Radio Pakistan, the agreement was signed by Additional Secretary of Economic Affairs Division, Sabina Qureshi and Project Administration Unit chief Dinesh Raj Shivkoti on Tuesday.

The report said, “This program will provide sufficient opportunities to women to create better access to financial services, expand business opportunities and create new employment opportunities.” WIF sub-program-2 focuses on four major improvement areas. This includes creating capable policy and regulatory environment for financial inclusion of women, enhancing finance for women, strengthening women’s entrepreneurship capacity and promoting inclusive and justified workplaces within the financial sector.

Radio Pakistan said that this agreement also shows the commitment of the Government of Pakistan to make women an active part of the national economy. With this initiative, not only women will be financially empowered, but it will also pave the way for their more inclusive, justified and prosperous future.

According to the Economic Survey 2024-25 released on 9 June, Pakistan’s total debt has increased to 76,000 billion Pakistani rupees in the first nine months of the current financial year. From this, it is estimated that in the current financial year, Pakistan’s economy will be able to increase at the rate of only 2.7 percent.

Pakistan and International Monetary Fund (IMF) signed a seven billion dollar external fund facility (IFF) loan agreement last year. Pakistan has received two installments so far, the second installment was distributed in May this year.

Bangladesh receives loan: After getting the help of $ 762 million (about Rs 6.360 crore) in May from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), now Bangladesh is going to get a loan again from two big banks of the world. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank have approved a $ 1.5 billion loan for Bangladesh. This will help in improving banking sector, dealing with climate change challenges and depleting of energy sector.

Both banks will get such a huge amount

According to the information received, ADB has approved a loan of $ 90 million for Bangladesh and World Bank of $ 64 million. Bangladesh is going to get this financial assistance at a time when the country is in dire need of foreign currency for foreign trade and its development projects. ADB Bank has informed that out of 90 million dollars, 50 crores will be done to improve the country’s banking system and strengthen it. The remaining 40 crores will be used to deal with climate change selections and promote development.

Many challenges ahead of Bangladesh’s banking system

Bangladesh’s banking system is currently dealing with many challenges, such as there is a huge lack of liquidity in the banking system, so the government does not have enough cash to fulfill its responsibilities. Bangladesh’s banking system also needs to create a strong regulatory framework so that problems like money laundering can be dealt with well.

Work is also to be done towards reducing cyber attack so that the data and money of the customers can be kept secure. The NPL problem in the banking system here is also very worrying, which has reached 74,570 million Taka in the first quarter of 2025.

Not only this, there is also difficulty in charging interest on the loan given to banks. Due to the help done by ADB, work will be done to increase cash in the banking sector, ensure compliance with international norms and to ensure affordable loans for micro, small and medium enterprises.

World Bank amount will help in this work

Apart from this, ADB bank will also give a loan of $ 400 million to Bangladesh to deal with the challenges of climate change. The $ 64 million from the World Bank will be used to reduce air pollution in the city and reduce the obstacles in gas supply.

According to media reports, due to the increasing demand for electricity in the country, the government led by Muhammad Yunus has converted the gas supply into power plants, which has deepened the gas crisis. With the amount received from the World Bank, these two projects will be worked on, which will promote economic development in Bangladesh, increase productivity and more and more people will get employment.

Pakistan has got another big loan after a month. In the plight that Pakistan is going through, it is also difficult for the people there to meet everyday needs. Pakistan reached the United Arab Emirates to overcome this economic crisis, where five banks together have given it a loan of one billion dollars for five years.

According to news agency PTI, Pakistan has signed a five -year ‘syndicated term finance’ of a billion US dollar. Syndicated term finance is a kind of loan in which two or more banks or financial institutions together provide this to the same borrower (individual, company or government).

The Pakistani Finance Ministry issued a statement on Wednesday (June 18, 2025), stating that Dubai Islamic Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Ajman Bank and HBL together gave a loan of one billion dollars to Pakistan. According to the ministry, Dubai Islamic Bank served as the only Islamic global coordinator, while Standard Chartered Bank was its leading manager. Other fundamentals include Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Ajman Bank and HBL.

The statement said the statement, the Finance Ministry has signed a partially guaranteed 100 million syndicated term finance facility of the ADB (Asian Development Bank) program ‘Advanced Resource Collection and Use Reforms.’

The ministry said that the government successfully entered the West Asia financial market after nearly two and a half years which indicates the new trust of the market in fiscal stability and overall improvement in Pakistan’s comprehensive economic indicators. This transaction also symbolizes the introduction of a new partnership of the Government of Pakistan with banks in West Asia.

Khurram Shahzad, Advisor to Finance Minister, wrote on the social media forum X, ‘Pakistan has received historical financing of one billion US dollars with the strong support of ADB -backed guarantee and strong support from West Asia banks.’ Earlier this month, the Philippine -based bank approved a US $ 80 million program to strengthen fiscal stability in Pakistan and improve public financial management.

With the help of Pakistan International Monetary Fund, insolvency in 2023-24 survived narrowly. After this, last year it worked to stabilize its economy with good results. In the first 11 months of the current financial year ending June 30, it recorded a current account surplus of US $ 1.8 billion which helped it to gain confidence of lenders. Pakistan follows the financial year from July 1 to June 30.

Global Gender Gap Index 2025: The shelter of terrorists, Pakistan keeps roaming around the world with a bowl for money. Even after getting money from some organizations including IMF, he works on promoting terror instead of spending on his people. Meanwhile, a list has been released internationally, in which Pakistan has topped below.

Pakistan topped this list from below

The World Economic Forum has released the Global Gender Gap Report 2025 by assessing 148 countries. Pakistan is at the bottom 148th position in this list. Bangladesh has secured 24th position in this list by making a long jump of 75 places. India is ranked 131 in this list of 148 countries. This assessment is done on the basis of many reports including equal economic participation of women and men, equal opportunities in the field of education, health and political empowerment.

Pakistan’s position in Global Gender Gap Report 2025

After this report, Pakistan’s overall equality score has come down from 57 percent to 56.7 percent. Pakistan’s decline has been recorded for the second consecutive time in the Global Gender Gap Report. According to this report, there is a lot of difference between the income and salary of men and women here. Although this is the highest in many countries, but Pakistan has the highest. Many countries have worked on this and have reduced the gap of income and salary of this woman and man, but it is increasing in Pakistan.

Shahbaz Sharif’s insult at international level

According to the World Bank’s 2024 report, the share of women working in Pakistan is only 22.8 percent, while the number of women in the big post is very less. The role of women in Pakistan’s politics has also reduced.

According to the report, the role of women in the politics here last year was 12.2 percent, which has fallen to 11 percent this year. Because of this, Shahbaz Sharif is getting insulted worldwide. The Global Gender Gap Report 2025 has emphasized the country’s continuous efforts to create equal opportunities for women in political and economic fields.

India-pakistan: India and Pakistan may be the neighboring countries of each other, but there is a difference of ground and sky between the conditions of both. A new data of the World Bank has revealed that in the last ten years where poverty in India has decreased on a large scale. At the same time, Pakistan is surrounded by economic troubles.

NDTV, quoting the World Bank’s data, said in its report, where India’s development model focused on growth and poverty removal, while Pakistan drowned in increasing debt due to financial mismanagement. Financing of terrorism related activities also continued to grow here.

Increasing poverty in Pakistan

The World Bank has recently placed the global poverty line between $ 2.15 to $ 3 per person to find out economic conditions and inflation. India’s speed towards development on this high benchmark was also worth seeing.

According to the World Bank’s Poverty and Shared Prosperity report, excessive poverty in India has come down from 27.1 percent to 2022 in 2012 to only 5.3. The number of people living in excessive poverty in the country has come down from 344.47 lakh to 75.24 lakh in 2022-23 in 2011-12. That is, there has been a decrease of 269 lakhs, which is more than the entire population of Pakistan.

Pakistan’s economy on debt dependent

In contrast, the ratio of its population in excessive poverty between 2017 and 2021 in Pakistan increased from 4.9 percent to 16.5 percent. The comprehensive poverty rate on the basis of income of $ 4.2 per day increased from 39.8 percent to more than 44.7 % in 2021.

Pakistan’s economy is very much dependent on the assistance from other countries and loans of foreign banks. Pakistan has taken a $ 25 bailout package of $ 44.57 billion from IMF. Apart from this, a loan of $ 38.8 billion has been taken from the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and Islamic Development Bank.

Along with this, Pakistan has also taken more than $ 25 billion loans from China. It also has $ 7.8 billion $ Eurobond and Sukuk borrowings. Pakistan has also got financial assistance from countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE and members of Paris Club.

The army is the doer of politics and economy

Speaking to NDTV, Ajay Bisaria, who was India’s high commissioner in Pakistan, said, “The world cannot solve the problem of Pakistan until the problem of being present in a large number of Pakistani army in politics and economy. Resource allotment work in Pakistan is in the hands of the army, so the funds to be sent are misused by the army and in the construction of terrorist system. All donors should be aware of data which shows that only Pakistan’s army is flourishing with the bailout package.
