World Boxing Championship: Meenakshi Hooda, daughter of an auto driver, has entered the finals in the World Boxing Championship going on at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex, Greater Noida. Meenakshi (48 kg) has defeated Bak Cho-Rong of Korea 5-0. Arundhati Chaudhary, making a comeback at the international level, has defeated three-time World Cup medalist Leonie Muller. Meenakshi, Ankush Fungal, Parveen and Nupur all secured their places in the finals.

Arundhati’s strong comeback after one and a half years

Former world champion Arundhati was competing after one and a half years. Won the initial two rounds with complete aggression. The German player has been shown the way out in the second round. Preeti (54 kg) will face a tough challenge against Olympic medalist and three-time world champion Huang Hsiao-Wen. While Sweety Boora (75 kg) will face Australia’s Emma-Sue Gretry. Similarly, Narendra and Naveen will also be seen trying to make it to the finals. Abhinash Jamwal will start his campaign playing against Alvin Aliyev of Ukraine.

Jasmine Lumboria brightened the name of India by winning the gold medal in the World Boxing Championship 2025. He created history by defeating Poland’s Julia Sgereetta in the 57 kg category title match. The Poland player won the silver medal in the Paris Olympics 2024.

Who is Jasmine Lumboria?

Jasmine Lumboria, who won the gold medal at the World Boxing Championship, is 24 years old. He was born on 30 August 2001 in Bhiwani, Haryana. Laboria belongs to a boxer family. His great -grandfather Hawa Singh was a heavyweight boxer and twice the Asian Games gold medalist. His grandfather Captain Chander Bhan Jasmine Lumboria was a wrestler. Jasmine Jasmine was coached by his uncle Sandeep Singh and Parvinder Singh, he was also a national champion in boxing.

Jasmine Lumboria also won the gold medal in the World Boxing Cup (Astana) this year. Jasmine has won the Bronze medal in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2021 Asian Championships.
