<p style="text-align: justify;">The mega auction for the Women&#8217;s Premier League 2026 is scheduled to take place on November 27. A few weeks before that, all the teams have released their respective retention lists. BCCI had set a purse of Rs 15 crore for all the 5 teams. RCB, MI, Delhi Capitals, UP Warriors and Gujarat Giants together have retained a total of 17 players, on whom a total of Rs 39.4 crore has been spent. <h4 style="text-align: justify;">Rs 39 crore spent on 17 players</h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Only Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have used all their five retentions. Royal Challengers Bangalore have retained 4 players, Gujarat Giants have retained two players and UP Warriors have retained only one player. Out of these 17 players, 10 are Indian and 7 are foreign. Three uncapped players have also been retained. A lot of money has also been showered on uncapped players, because BCCI had set the price for them at Rs 50 lakh.</p>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">who spent how much money</h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">-Mumbai Indians retained Harmanpreet Kaur, Nate Sciver Brunt, Hayley Mathews, Amanjot Kaur and G Kamalini, on whom it spent Rs 9.25 crore.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">-RCB has spent Rs 8.85 crore on only 4 players. The Bengaluru franchise has retained Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Richa Ghosh and Shreyanka Patil. Bengaluru has not kept any uncapped player in its retention list.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">-Delhi Capitals have also spent Rs 9.30 crore out of the purse of Rs 15 crore. It has retained Jemimah Rodrigues, Shefali Verma, Marijne Kapp, Annabel Sutherland and uncapped player Nikki Prasad.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">-Gujarat Giants have retained 2 veterans in the form of Ashley Gardner and Beth Mooney. Gujarat team has spent Rs 6 crore on only 2 players.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">-UP Warriors have released big players including Deepti Sharma. He has retained only uncapped player Shweta Sehrawat.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Women&#8217;s Premier League 2026 auction (WPL 2026 Auction Date) can be organized in New Delhi. According to Cricbuzz, all the teams have been informed in this regard. It is being told that the auction can be conducted on 26th or 27th November. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet confirmed the date of the auction.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the report published in Cricbuzz, all the 5 teams Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants and UP Warriors have been informed about the date of the auction. Despite being a WPL mega auction, the auction can be conducted in a single day. Notices have been sent to all the teams that they will have to submit their retention lists by November 5.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Before the auction, each team will be able to retain 5 players. The price of the first player to be retained will be Rs 3.5 crore, while the retention price of the fifth and last player will be Rs 50 lakh. Each team can use five Right to Match cards (RTM), but the number of RTM cards will depend on the players retained by the team. The more players a team retains, the fewer RTM cards will be available.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Each team will have the freedom to retain 3 capped players. A team can retain only 2 foreign players. The price of retaining an uncapped player will be Rs 50 lakh and a franchise can retain two uncapped players. However, the price given to an uncapped player may be different from the amount of Rs 50 lakh.</p>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">Total purse and price of retained players</h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Each team will have a purse of Rs 15 crore in the auction, out of which Rs 9.25 crore will be spent on the 5 retained players.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">First retention – 3.5 crores</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Second retention – 2.5 crores</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Third Retention – 1.75 crores</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Fourth Retention – One Crore</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Fifth retention – 50 lakhs</p>
