The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that England will host the next 3 finals of the World Test Championship. The three WTC finals held so far have been held in England and now the finals of 2027, 2029 and 2031 will also be played on the soil of England. Some time ago, BCCI had expressed a desire to host the World Test Championship final match, but this new announcement of ICC will give BCCI’s plan to at least 2031.

The ICC issued an official statement stating, “Given the last three successful events of the WTC final, the ICC confirms that the final match of the World Test Championship to be held in 2027, 2029 and 2031 is being handed over to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).”

The final match held in 2021 was hosted by Rose Bowl Stadium in England, where New Zealand defeated India by 8 wickets in the title collision. After that the final of 2023 was played at The Oval ground in England, this time Australia won the title by defeating Team India by 209 runs. At the same time, South Africa won by 5 wickets in the final match in 2025.

Earlier, cricket experts and many players also demanded the final on Asian pitches to bring more competitive and variations in the World Test Championship Final. At the same time, BCCI had expressed his desire to host the final of 2027, but in the event of India not reaching the finals, the number of fans who came to see the finals can be recorded.
