Mahindra has released a new teaser of its upcoming all-electric flagship SUV XEV 9S and this time the company has shown a great glimpse of its interior. After watching the teaser, it is clear that this SUV will not only be ahead in power and range, but will also set a new standard in terms of luxury and comfort. The most eye-catching thing is its 1,400W 16-speaker premium sound system by Harman Kardon, which comes with Dolby Atmos support. Such a powerful audio system is usually found in high-end luxury cars, which makes it clear that Mahindra is presenting the XEV 9S as a premium electric SUV.

• Mahindra XEV 9S will make its global debut at the “Scream Electric” event to be held in Bengaluru on November 27. This will be Mahindra’s first three-row all-electric SUV and it is built on the INGLO skateboard platform, which is considered to be a platform with light, strong and modern technology. The most attractive feature in the interior of the SUV is its triple digital display setup, which gives a completely futuristic look to the dashboard. • Mahindra XEV 9S is going to be special not only in design and technology but also in comfort and safety features. It is expected to get premium features like multi-zone climate control, heated and ventilated seats, seats with memory function, adjustable headrest, center armrest and ambient lighting. The SUV is also likely to get Level-2 ADAS, 360-degree camera and smart driving assist features, which will make driving safe.

• Talking about performance, the same new battery and motor technology will be used in XEV 9S, which is found in Mahindra BE.6 and XEV 9e. With this the SUV can give a range of around 500 km. The company will also provide ultra-fast DC charging in it, due to which the battery will be charged very fast. The bi-directional charging technology in the SUV will allow it to be used as a mobile power station, meaning you will be able to charge other EVs or electronic devices as well if needed.

Design and interior of XEV 9S

• Mahindra’s new teaser shows that the interior design of the XEV 9S is largely inspired by the XEV 9e. Three large 12.3-inch digital screens are provided inside the SUV – one for the driver, the second for the infotainment system and the third for the front passenger. A two-spoke steering wheel is provided on the dashboard, on which a glowing Infinity logo is visible. This logo reflects the new EV identity of Mahindra. Inside the cabin, there is a wonderful combination of leather upholstery, metal finish and ambient lighting, which gives it a very premium feel. The SUV has a large panoramic sunroof, which makes the cabin spacious and luxurious.

Features of Mahindra XEV 9S

• Mahindra XEV 9S is a high-tech and luxury SUV in terms of features. It includes premium features like a separate screen for the front passenger, 16-speaker sound system by Harman Kardon and Dolby Atmos support. Additionally, the SUV has been provided with features like ventilated and powered front seats, remote parking feature, powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting. To increase safety and driving comfort, Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) has also been included in it. Due to all these features, XEV 9S becomes the most feature-loaded electric SUV in its segment.

Battery and range

• The same battery system can be used in Mahindra XEV 9S which was seen in XEV 9e. The company is preparing to present it with two battery pack options. The first version will come with a 79 kWh battery pack, which will give a range of about 656 kilometers. It will also have DC fast charging support, which will make it better for long journeys. The second version will come with a 59 kWh battery pack, whose range will be approximately 542 kilometers.

Design and build quality

• The exterior design of Mahindra XEV 9S is modern and bold. Its LED headlamps, flush door handles and aerodynamic body structure give it a feel of futuristic design language. The SUV has large 21-inch alloy wheels, muscular body lines and sloping roof design, which gives it a premium and better look. In terms of build quality, Mahindra has prepared it with high-strength body structure, due to which it not only provides safe but also comfortable driving experience.

Launch date and expected price

• Mahindra will officially launch the XEV 9S in India on 27 November 2025. After launch, it will compete with premium electric SUVs like Tata Harrier EV, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and MG ZS EV. The company is going to launch it under its “Born Electric” brand. Talking about the price, it is expected to be launched between Rs 40 lakh to Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom).
