China has issued a stern warning to America regarding America’s attack on Venezuela and the arrest of its President Nicolas Maduro. China’s Foreign Ministry called it a serious violation of international law and basic norms of international relations. China said, ‘Such action violates Venezuela’s sovereignty and poses a threat to peace and security in Latin America and the Caribbean region.’

There should be an emergency meeting of UN Security Council: China

Beijing said, ‘We call on all parties to respect Venezuela’s right to freely choose its development and work to restore stability and order there. China supports emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss US military attacks on Venezuela. China is ready to work with the international community to safeguard the UN Charter and the fundamental principles of international justice.

‘No matter what happens we will remain friends’

China bluntly said that no matter what changes occur in the international scenario, it will always remain a good friend and ally of Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries. There is continuity and stability in China’s policy on the LAC region. China said, ‘We adhere to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries. We respect the choice of the people of LAC and never draw the line on the basis of ideological differences.

We do not target anyone to increase influence: China

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said, ‘China-LAC cooperation is based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit. We never seek sphere of influence nor target any party. China, establishing diplomatic relations with LAC countries, strengthening strategic trust, supporting each other on issues related to our core interests and major concerns, including national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

China has made a big bet on Venezuela

China’s tension has increased after America’s action on Venezuela because it has a lot at stake in Venezuela. China has given loans and other financial assistance worth about $105.6 billion to Venezuela. Caracas opened its doors to China long ago. Last year, Chinese President Xi Jinping had promised a credit line of $9.2 billion for the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). There are 33 countries in CELAC organization.

World leaders are competing to take credit for the ceasefire between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor. After US President Trump, China has now entered this fight for credit. Although India has right from the beginning denied any such mediation by any third party, Pakistan starts singing praises of any country which forcefully sticks its nose in the ceasefire.

Pakistan came out in support of China on ceasefire

Recently, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi took credit for bringing peace in many tense areas including India-Pakistan and Cambodia-Thailand. India rejected it outright, but Pakistan again stood in support of China. Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said that he supports China’s stand.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, ‘China’s leadership was in constant touch with Pakistan. Between May 6 and May 10, and perhaps even before that, China had frequent contacts with the Indian leadership. China’s diplomatic talks helped in reducing tension and bringing peace. I am sure that China’s view about mediation is right.

China’s statement on India-Pakistan ceasefire

Speaking at a symposium on China’s foreign relations, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said: “This year, local hostilities and cross-border conflicts have erupted more frequently than at any other time since the end of World War II. There was geopolitical turmoil. To maintain lasting peace, we have adopted a purposeful approach and focused on addressing both the symptoms and the root causes.

He further said, ‘Adopting this Chinese way of resolving hotspot issues, we mediated in Northern Myanmar, Iranian nuclear issue, tensions between Pakistan and India, issues between Palestine and Israel and the recent spat between Cambodia and Thailand.’

India’s response to China’s claim

Rejecting China’s claim, India bluntly said that no third party was involved in the ceasefire decision. India said that the ceasefire with Pakistan was agreed upon after talks between the DGMOs of the two countries.

Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch, who is fighting to liberate Balochistan, wrote a letter to Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar on the occasion of New Year. In this letter, he told about Pakistan’s occupation, government sponsored terrorism and serious human rights related atrocities committed on the people of Balochistan in the last 79 years. In this letter, he informed about the atrocities being committed against the people of Baloch and said that China can deploy its army in Balochistan in the next few months.

Mir Baloch praised the bold and determined steps taken under Operation Sindoor 2025 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April 2025, India had destroyed the terrorist bases supported by Pakistan under Operation Sindoor. Mir Baloch described these steps as proof of India’s tremendous courage, regional security and strong determination for justice.

Baloch leader mentioned the culture of India-Balochistan

In the letter, he wrote, ‘On behalf of the six crore patriotic citizens of the Republic of Balochistan, we heartily congratulate the 140 crore people of India, both Houses of Parliament, media, civil society and all eminent people for the New Year 2026. This occasion provides an opportunity to reflect and celebrate the deep historical, cultural, commercial, economic, diplomatic, security and many other relationships that have linked India and Balochistan for centuries.

‘CPEC reached its last stage’

Mir Baloch further said in the letter, ‘An example of these strong relationships are holy places like Hinglaj Mata Mandir (Nani Temple), which is an everlasting symbol of our shared heritage and spiritual ties.’ Mir Yar Baloch said that the people of Balochistan consider the growing strategic alliance between Pakistan and China as very dangerous. He has warned that China, together with Pakistan, has taken the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to its final stage.

‘China can deploy army in Balochistan’

The Baloch leader said, ‘If the capabilities of Balochistan’s defense and independent forces are not further strengthened and if they continue to be ignored like the old pattern, then it can be thought that China can deploy its military forces in Balochistan within a few months. The presence of Chinese troops on the land of Balochistan without the consent of the 60 million Baloch people will be an unimaginable threat and challenge to the future of both India and Balochistan.

China has inaugurated the world’s longest Tianshan Shengli Tunnel in Xinjiang province and opened it to the general public. This tunnel is about 22.13 kilometers long and passes under the Central Tianshan mountain located in the Uyghur region of northwest China.

According to Song Hailiang, Chairman of China Communications Construction Company, this tunnel has created two world records. He said that this is the longest expressway tunnel in the world and it has the deepest vertical shaft compared to any highway tunnel.

How China’s new Tianshan Shengli Tunnel will make travel easier

The Tianshan Shengli Tunnel, which passes through the central Tianshan Mountains in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, has reduced the difficult and long journey through mountainous terrain from several hours to about 20 minutes.

According to the government news agency Xinhua, this tunnel is a major part of the G0711 Urumqi-Yuli Expressway, which became operational on Friday (December 26, 2025).

This expressway will serve as an important transport artery linking city clusters to the north and south of Xinjiang.

The world’s longest tunnel, spanning about 2,500 kilometers, is located in the Tianshan mountain range in central Xinjiang and separates the provincial capital Urumqi from Korla.

With the opening of the expressway, the travel time between Urumqi and Korla has reduced from about 7 hours to about three to three and a half hours.

This new engineering achievement of China passes through 16 major geological fault zones.

This more than 22 kilometer long tunnel passes through the Tianshan mountain range, where earlier the journey used to take several hours, now the same journey is completed in just 20 minutes.

China started the construction work of this entire project in the year 2020. It has been completed at a cost of about 6.6 billion US dollars.

China has announced a ban on a total of 20 companies, including big American defense companies. China’s Foreign Ministry said on Friday (26 December 2025) that action has been taken against 10 individuals and 20 American defense companies for selling arms to Taiwan. The St. Louis branch of Boeing is also included in these banned companies.

Entry ban of company and its officials in China

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that after this action, all the assets of American companies and their people in China will be frozen. China’s domestic institutions and individuals have also been prevented from doing any kind of business with these companies. The banned companies include the founder of defense-related Anduril Industries and nine senior officials of the banned companies. He has been banned from entering China.

Apart from this, companies like Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation and L3 Harris Maritime Services have also come under the purview of this action. Last week, America had announced the sale of arms worth $11.1 billion to Taiwan, after which China took this action.

‘China will respond to any provocative action’

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said the Taiwan issue is part of China’s core interests. This is a red line in China-US relations that cannot be crossed. Beijing has said that it will give a strong response to any provocative action regarding Taiwan. China has urged America not to give arms to Taiwan.

Earlier this month, Donald Trump signed a bill that will strengthen Taiwan’s relations with America. This is the ‘Taiwan Assurance Implementation Act’, which obliges the US State Department to review the guidelines for US engagement with Taiwan. This review will take place every five years. Taiwan has appreciated it, while China has expressed strong objection, calling it unacceptable interference.

Amidst tense relations, China has given a good advice to Japan. It has been cautioned to move forward after learning the lessons from the recent leakage of radioactive material from the site of the Fujin nuclear reactor in Fukui Prefecture. Along with this, China has also emphasized on its monitoring. The Chinese Foreign Ministry, quoting a report, said that a leak incident has occurred in Japan due to which there is a possibility that ‘many people may be exposed to radiation.’

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said these things in a press conference on Wednesday (December 24, 2025). He said that several incidents related to the safety of nuclear facilities in Japan have raised concerns for some time, including fraud in quality inspection data for radiation detectors at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant and an incident of overflow of used fuel pool cooling water at a reprocessing plant in Rokkasho village, Aomori Prefecture.

He was asked a question about the leak of water containing radioactive materials at the Fugen nuclear reactor in Tsuruga city of Fukui Prefecture, Japan on December 23. Decommissioning work is going on at this plant. According to China’s Foreign Ministry, Japan’s Nuclear Regulatory Authority has said that the concentration of radioactive materials in the leaked water is believed to be very high, and many people may have been exposed to radiation.

“Despite various problems such as aging nuclear facilities, disorganized management and inadequate regulation, Japan still decided to restart the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant,” Lin said. Here earlier there had been an incident of overflow of used fuel pool cooling water, after which the people of Japan were very angry and protested.

Lin said China urges Japan to fully learn the lessons of the Fukushima nuclear accident, honestly fulfill its nuclear safety responsibilities, promptly provide information and take effective measures, properly handle the decommissioning and disposal of radioactive waste of nuclear power plants, and voluntarily accept international monitoring to reduce concerns in the international community.

China condemned the US military’s move to seize Venezuelan oil tankers in international waters, saying it was an arbitrary action. The Chinese Foreign Ministry has called it a violation of international law. The US Army stopped an oil tanker near the Venezuelan coast on Saturday (20 December 2025), after which the statement of Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian has come to light.

In this regard, a White House official had claimed that it was part of a so-called shadow fleet. A shadow fleet is a secret network of ships, often consisting of old tankers, that hide their identities and transport contraband (oil, weapons) from one place to another, in order to circumvent international sanctions and regulations.

‘US actions violate international law’

Lin Jian said that America’s arbitrary seizure of foreign ships is a violation of international law. “China always opposes illegal unilateral sanctions that have no basis in international law and are not authorized by the UN Security Council,” he said. It also opposes any actions that violate the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, violate the sovereignty and security of other countries, or constitute unilateral threats.

Lin said Venezuela has the right to freely develop mutually beneficial cooperation with other countries, and China believes the international community understands and supports Venezuela’s position in safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests.

America is increasing its army near Venezuela

Recently, America has been continuously increasing its military deployment in the waters near Venezuela. Last week, US President Donald Trump had declared the Nicolas Maduro government a foreign terrorist organization. Trump has ordered a complete and total blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers entering and leaving Venezuela, targeting Venezuela’s economic lifeline.

Maduro condemned this and accused the US of starting a new era of criminal naval plunder in the Caribbean region. The US military action against Venezuela is a matter of concern for China, as it has had close strategic relations with Venezuela for decades. China and Russia are Venezuela’s two main partners. China is the largest buyer of Venezuelan crude oil.

The tension in the deteriorating relations between China and Japan has increased further. Now Beijing has announced action against Shigeru Iwasaki, former Chief of Staff of the Self-Defense Forces. At the same time, Japanese media has called it a symbolic ban, which is a response to his appointment as an advisor to Taiwan’s cabinet this year.

According to Global Times, Shigeru Iwasaki is accused of conspiring for ‘Taiwan independence’. China on Monday (December 15, 2025) announced retaliation against Shigeru Iwasaki, former chief of staff of the Japan Self-Defense Forces. The allegation is that this was due to their public collusion with separatist forces, violated the spirit of the One China Policy and the Four Political Documents between China and Japan, interfered in China’s domestic affairs, and tried to violate China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In accordance with the provisions of Articles 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 15 of the Foreign Anti-Sanction Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese side has decided to take retaliatory measures against Iwasaki. The ministry said these retaliatory measures include visa restrictions, freezing Iwasaki’s assets, and prohibiting any transactions or cooperation with him. This decision is effective from Monday.

According to The Japan Times, the matter is old. Iwasaki served as SDF chief from 2012 to 2014. During that time, tensions had increased between Tokyo and Beijing regarding the islands of the East China Sea. He helped design joint operations for the SDF and worked closely with US forces.

These sanctions have been imposed at a time when relations between Japan and China regarding Taiwan have reached their worst point in many years. Japan’s PM Sanae Takaichi had said last month that any military action by China against the self-ruled island could become such a big threat to Japan. In such a situation, she can allow SDF to take action. His statement angered Beijing because it considers any issue related to Taiwan as its internal matter.

Iwasaki is the second Japanese citizen this year on whom China has imposed sanctions, earlier in September it had taken similar steps against MP Hei Seki. Seki, who was born in China and later became a Japanese citizen, was accused by Beijing of interfering in China’s internal affairs and undermining its sovereignty.

There is a dispute going on between China and the Philippines over the islands and maritime areas of the South China Sea. A clash was once again seen between the two countries on Saturday (December 13, 2025). In fact, Philippines officials claimed that China Coast Guard ships took action against Philippines fishing boats in a disputed area of the South China Sea. After this, there was a clash between the two parties in the sea, in which three fishermen from the Philippines were injured.

Philippine officials said the incident occurred near Sabina Shoal, a fish-rich area about 150 kilometers (93 miles) off Palawan island. On the other hand, Beijing said on Friday (December 12, 2025) that it has taken necessary control measures against about 20 Philippines fishing boats in the area.

China has been claiming the disputed waterway

China completely claims this disputed waterway. At the same time, the Philippines claims this area under international law and its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). In such a situation, due to recent military cooperation, the tension between the two countries has increased further.

However, China has a history of making such claims everywhere. The area over which this dispute is taking place between China and the Philippines is rich in natural gas and oil. Confrontations between the navies of China and the Philippines are often seen in the Scarborough Shoal.

China is adopting aggressive stance regarding South China Sea

On one hand, China is adopting an aggressive stance regarding the South China Sea, while on the other hand, the Philippines is also giving a befitting reply. In such a situation, countries like America, Japan and Australia are supporting China. At the same time, it has also been said in international decisions that China’s claim has no legal basis.

In October, the Philippines had alleged that a Chinese ship had deliberately hit its government ship in the Spratly Islands. However, China completely rejected this allegation and blamed Manila for the incident.

The situation has reached a critical point due to Russia’s entry in the East China Sea amidst the ongoing tension between China and Japan. Russia has tried to send a strong message to Japan by fielding its strategic bombers and fighter planes in the Indo-Pacific region in support of China. Japan and South Korea have called it a matter of deep concern.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the air forces of China and Russia have conducted joint air-patrolling in the Asia-Pacific (Indo-Pacific) region. In this patrol, Russia’s Tu-95 Strategic Missile Carrier (Bomber) along with China’s H-6 bombers conducted air patrol in the East China Sea, Sea of Japan and Western Pacific Ocean. During this period, Russia’s Su-30, Su-35 and China’s J-16 fighter jets provided cover to these bombers.

However, Russia claimed that this joint patrolling was done under international laws, but Japan and South Korea have expressed strong objection. Japan’s Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi has given a strong reaction and said that China and Russia together are trying to show strength against Japan, which is a matter of concern.

On Tuesday (December 9, 2025), China released the audio of a call claiming to have warned Japanese aircraft, while Japan said Chinese military officials did not respond to the hotline. Both countries are blaming each other.

In fact, Japan’s new Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has announced to strengthen its defense sector in the East China Sea, and has also announced help during China’s attack on Taiwan. China is irritated by this and China and Japan have started a war of supremacy in the Indo-Pacific region.

South Korea lodged objection to Tuesday’s China-Russia joint air patrol. South Korea’s army has said that fighter planes from China and third countries have flown in its airspace. South Korea said, ’07 Russian aircraft and 02 Chinese aircraft entered its border.’ South Korea’s Joint Chief of Staff has said that two Chinese and seven Russian military aircraft had entered the Korea Air Defense Identification Zone (KADIG), after which South Korea sent its fighter planes. These planes kept coming and going in our airspace for about an hour and then went out.

In fact, last week China deployed its aircraft carrier Liaoning for the first time in the East China Sea on a training mission. During this period, Chinese J-15 planes took off from the aircraft carrier. Japan has also been claiming the East China Sea and had accused Chinese aircraft of violating Japanese air-space. Japan had scrambled the American fighter jet F-15. During this time, both the countries (China and Japan) had accused each other’s fighter jets of jamming radar.
