In Uttarakhand, the doors of the world famous Yamunotri Dham were opened on Sunday at exactly 12.35 pm with Vedic chanting and rituals as per religious traditions and the doors of Gangotri Dham were opened at 12.15 pm for the common devotees for the summer season. As soon as the doors opened, the entire Dham echoed with the chants of ‘Jai Maa Yamuna’ and the atmosphere became completely devotional. With this the Chardham Yatra formally started.

On the auspicious occasion of the inauguration of the doors, the local villagers as well as hundreds of devotees from India and abroad felt blessed to witness this historic moment. Special enthusiasm was seen among the devotees, while religious rituals and worship continued in the temple premises since morning.

Chardham Yatra formally inaugurated

On this occasion, the pilgrims who reached the Dham were given a grand welcome by Shri Yamunotri Temple Committee, administrative officials and local public representatives. Special arrangements have been made by the administration for the convenience, safety and easy darshan of the pilgrims, so that the Chardham Yatra can be conducted smoothly. With the opening of the doors of the Dham, the Char Dham Yatra has been formally started, due to which an atmosphere of faith and enthusiasm has been created in the entire area.

Caution appeal to passengers

Local businessmen and people associated with tourism business also have good expectations from the travel season. The administration has appealed to the devotees to visit only by following the weather, health and safety instructions during the journey, so that the journey remains safe and pleasant.

Let us tell you here that this year special arrangements have been made for the convenience of the pilgrims during Chardham Yatra. Recently, a mock drill was also conducted under the direction of the Home Ministry. In which the arrangements in case of disaster were tested. Officials of all the districts have been put on alert with special monitoring on the Yatra route.
