Realizing this problem, the Haryana government has launched the Chief Minister’s Vivah Shagun Yojana. Under this scheme, poor families, widows, divorced, women players, orphan girls etc. are given financial assistance for their marriage. Under the scheme, an amount ranging from ₹ 31,000 to ₹ 71,000 is given as “Kanyadaan”, which depends on the social status and family income of the girl.
