Former South Korean President Yeon Suk-yeol had incited North Korea to attack in order to impose martial law in his country. This disclosure has been given by the investigation committee formed against the jailed former President.

Covert drone sent into North Korea’s airspace
According to the investigation, Yol, along with the Defense Minister of his cabinet and the chief of the intelligence agency, had sent covert drones into North Korea’s airspace to impose martial law. These drones were sent to the ancestral home of North Korean dictator Kim Jong. By doing this, the deposed President of South Korea had conspired to create a war-like situation with North Korea. But when North Korea did not retaliate, Yeol imposed martial law on December 3, 2024, accusing his country’s opposition leaders of being in collusion with North Korea.

The conspiracy collapsed in six hours
After about six hours of martial law, Yol had to withdraw his decision. Because the opposition parties, along with the army, police and public, had foiled Yol’s conspiracy. MPs of opposition parties and the public had captured the Parliament of South Korea and took to the streets. According to the investigative committee, Yole had tried to impose military-junta (military rule) in South Korea.

Impeachment and arrest
Parliament had ousted Yol from the post of President through impeachment. In the month of April this year, a total of 24 people including Yol and five ministers of his cabinet were arrested and sent to jail. These included the Intelligence Chief and the Army Chief. For almost six months, the investigation committee has unearthed the conspiracy to impose martial law by inquiring against Yol.

Fear of losing power after election defeat
According to the committee, after his defeat in the parliamentary elections, Yol began to fear losing his seat. In such a situation, Yol conspired to impose military rule under his leadership so that the democratic structure could be destroyed and power could be continued.

The Constitutional Court of South Korea unanimously approved the impeachment of President Union Suk-Yol, resulting in he was removed from the post. This decision was taken due to brief martial law in December.

Acting Chief Justice Moon Hyung-Bee said that this decision is being implemented with immediate effect, which has made it necessary for South Korea to hold the presidential election within 60 days to choose the successor of Youn, which will probably be on June 3.

Yu was impeached by the opposition-controlled National Assembly in mid-December last year on charges of violating the constitution and laws. It was alleged that he declared martial law on 3 December, deploying soldiers in the National Assembly to prevent MPs from cancellation of this order and ordered the arrest of the leaders.

Moon said, "The negative effects and consequences of the defendant’s law violations on the constitutional system are serious, which is much more than national losses to remove the defendant from the post to protect the Constitution."

The court recognized almost all the allegations against Yu, including that they did not meet the legal requirements to declare martial law and sent the assembly to the soldiers to stop the order from turning the order from turning.

<ptyle ="Text-Align: justify;"> The ruling Peepal Power Party said that it humbly accepts the decision of the court, while the main opposition Democratic Party welcomed it as a public victory.

Earlier, the National Assembly Secretariat had completely banned entry for outsiders from Thursday to Sunday. During this period all the prescribed seminars and programs organized by MPs were canceled.

An official of the office of the National Assembly Speaker said, "We have banned the entry of outsiders and strengthened our police and security to a great extent as a precaution against any possible situation."

South Korea PM HAN DUCK-SOO: A constitutional court in South Korea rejected the impeachment on Prime Minister Han Duck-Suk on Monday (March 24). Prime Minister Han Duck-In December last year, the acting president was appointed as the President after the President was suspended to implement martial law in the country.

However, a few weeks after the Prime Minister became a caretaker President, in December 2024, South Korea MPs imagined him for a short-lived suspension of the civil legal process.

Constitutional court dismisses impeachment by 7-1 votes

Constructed by two weeks for time

According to the report by Reuters, Prime Minister Han Duck-Su took over as the acting President of the country for less than two weeks. On 27 December, the Prime Minister denied the appointment of 3 more judges in the Constitutional Court. After which he was suspended after a confrontation with the opposition -led Parliament.

The Parliament had imagined the role of the Prime Minister in the martial law in the country as well as to refuse the appointment of additional judges in the constitutional court and to support the Special Counsel Bill, which targets former President Union Suk Yol and first woman Kim Kyon.
