India’s Under-19 team has created history by defeating Australia at home. Under the captaincy of Ayush Mhatre, the Indian youth team won the two-match Youth Test series 2-0. In this way, India broke the 30-year-old record and set a new record of winning the Youth Test match in the fewest number of balls.

Young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi performed brilliantly in this series. He scored a total of 133 runs in two test matches, which also included a century. This innings of Vaibhav proved important in strengthening the foundation of the team. Along with them, the strategy of captain Ayush Mhatre and the lethal bowling of the bowlers also pushed the Australian team completely on the back foot.

Australia eliminated in both ODI and Test

India not only clean swept Australia in the Test but also in the ODI series. India had also won 3-0 in the three-match Youth ODI series. India won by 7 wickets in the first match. In the second match, India won by 51 runs and in the third match, India defeated Australia by 167 runs.

The same dominance of India continued in the Test series also. The team won the first Youth Test by an innings and 58 runs, while won the second Test by 7 wickets.

Australia’s batting completely collapsed

Australia’s batting looked very weak in the second test. In the first innings, their team could score only 135 runs, in which wicketkeeper Alex Lee Young played a struggling inning of 66 runs. In the second innings the entire team was reduced to 116 runs. India needed only 81 runs to win, which it easily achieved by losing three wickets.

1995 record broken

With this victory, India broke the record set by West Indies in 1995, when West Indies defeated Pakistan in Faisalabad within 992 balls. Now this achievement has been registered in the name of India that it won the Youth Test in just 886 balls.

The Indian captain batted brilliantly and completed his half -century in 25 balls. Ayush, along with Abhigyan Kundu, partnered 117 runs in 77 balls. India’s under-19 team captain Ayush Mhatre completed his century in 64 balls and with this the player became the fastest century player in the youth test. Earlier this record was named after England batsman George Bull. This player made a century in 88 balls against Sri Lanka in 2022. Ayush Mhatre also has a record of making the third fastest century of under-19 Test cricket.

Ayush Mhatre scored a strong innings of 126 runs in 80 balls in the second innings against England. Ayush was batting at a strike rate of over 150 in the Test match.
