Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday (October 17, 2025) has praised the Nag Mark-2 (Nag Mk II) Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) after its successful demonstration of its lethality from the Zoravar Light Tank. The Defense Minister has congratulated the entire team of DRDO, calling the development of Zoravar Light Tank a major achievement of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).

The Defense Minister’s office shared a video post on social media platform X on Friday (October 17, 2025). The post said, ‘Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has achieved major progress in self-reliance in critical defense technology. DRDO’s Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) has achieved a major achievement in the development of Zoravar Light Tank. Zoravar Light Tank has been designed and developed by DRDO and manufactured by Larsen & Toubro Limited.

Defense Minister’s Office said, ‘The institute successfully demonstrated the firing capability of Nag Mk-II Anti-Tank Guided Missile from Zorawar Light Tank and successfully achieved all the demonstration targets with range, operability in top attack mode and accuracy. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the entire DRDO team for this success.

Zoravar Light Tank developed by DRDO is also known as Mountain Tank, which DRDO has developed mainly to defeat China. The weight of this tank which gave sleep to China is only 25 tons. In which a powerful engine of 750 horse power has been installed. This is a light tank, which can become a threat to the enemy on any front. Its special thing is that this tank can be easily transported to the Chinese border through airplane and helicopter. Apart from this, it is also capable of climbing mountains on its own.

Shells can be fired from this tank, machine guns can be fired. At the same time, 105 mm anti-tank guided missile can also be fired from this mountain tank. But now Nag Mark-2 anti-tank guided missile has also been included in this series, which can easily hit the enemy sitting far away.
