Tawwur Rana, one of the masterminds of the 26/11 attack in Mumbai, is being brought to India. The government has started preparations for the lawsuit on him. Lawyer Narendra Mann, who has a good hold in criminal law, has been appointed as Special Public Prosecutor for 3 years.
The notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs states that under Section 15 (1) of the National Investigation Agency Act (NIA Act) and Section 18 (8) of the Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS), lawyer Narendra Mann is being appointed as special public prosecutor.
What is in the Ministry of Home Affairs?
This appointment has been made for NIA case RC-04/2009/NIA/DLI and related matters. This appointment will be considered applicable for the next three years. If the trial ends before this period, the more period will be considered as the period of appointment.
