The bail plea of ​​former councilor Mohammad Tahir Hussain, accused of murder of IB officer Ankit Sharma in 2020 Delhi riot case, has been rejected by the Delhi High Court. Tahir Hussain is an accused in the murder of IB officer Ankit Sharma during Delhi riots. Delhi Police opposed Tahir Hussain’s bail plea, saying that Tahir Hussain is an influential person, if bail is granted, the witnesses will be in danger of being affected.

It was argued by Tahir Hussain that he has been in jail for the last five years and other accused in this case have been granted bail and some witnesses have given a statement in our favor but the lower court did not look into it.

Ankit Sharma’s body was found in the drain during Delhi riots

During the 2020 Delhi riots, the body of IB officer Ankit Sharma was found from a drain, after which he was taken to GTB Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. FIR was registered in this case following the complaint of the father of the deceased. It is said that on the day this incident took place, Ankit had come out to take some goods of his house. He did not return home for several hours and his body was found in the drain. Many marks of injury were found on his body.

Custody parole was found in assembly elections

Significantly, Tahir Hussain is accused of inciting the riots in Delhi in 2020. He has been in jail for almost five years. In January, the Supreme Court was given custody parole, accused of Delhi riots and former AAP councilor Tahir Hussain. Tahir got this parole from 29 January to 3 February to campaign in the Delhi Assembly elections. Tahir Hussain, accused of Delhi riots, was given a ticket from Mustafabad by AIMIM.
