A new controversy has emerged in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. Former captain of Pakistan women’s cricket team Sana Mir has given a new controversy by referring to ‘Azad Kashmir’ during the commentary. Actually, this case is of Pakistan vs Bangladesh match played on Thursday, in which the Pak team was batting first and piled up for just 128 runs.
While discussing the background of Natalia Parvez in Pakistan-Bangladesh match, Sana Mir said that Parvez comes from ‘Azad Kashmir’. Indian fans have erupted on his statement and are trolling the former Pak captain fiercely. Jammu and Kashmir has been an integral part of India, but Pakistan has been claiming its claim on it for many decades.
Given the political relations between India and Pakistan, Sana Mir can become a big controversy in commentary because the Asia Cup Trophy Controversy is not over yet. In the Asia Cup 2025, 3 matches were played between India and Pakistan, in which the Indian team did not join hands with Pak players. At the same time, after winning the final, Team India refused to take the trophy from the hands of PCB chairman and ACC President Mohsin Naqvi. This trophy dispute is still going on.
Sana Mir, who mentions ‘Azad Kashmir’ in Pakistan vs Bangladesh World Cup match, would not even know herself that only 2 words she said will give rise to a very big controversy. It is so important that Indian fans are not seen in the mood to spare them on social media. An Indian fan demanded that Sana Mir should be dismissed from the commentary panel as soon as possible.
Player ‘from Azad Kashmir’ is this kind of commentary allowed?
And then they say keep politics away from sports. pic.twitter.com/1hshjrwmzg

What the hell is ‘Azaad Kashmir’ @Icc @BcciUsing this on a global stage is outrageous. @Jayshah @Mithunmanhas. There is no ‘azaad kashmir.’ Such Anti-India Propaganda has no place in Cricket!#Pakvsban #CWC25
