Manoj bharathi death: South film industry veteran Tamil film director Bharti Raja and actor Manoj Bharti died of a heart attack on Tuesday evening. He was just 48 years old.
Was sick for a few months
Industry sources said that Manoj Bharti had a heart operation a few months ago and he was getting healthy.
He is survived by his wife Nandana and two daughters Arshita and Mathivadhani.
Manoj started his acting in the year 1999 with a romantic drama ‘Taj Mahal’, directed by his father Bharti Raja. Riya Sen was in the lead role in this film and was written by famous director Mani Ratnam. In this, AR Rahman’s music and B.K. Kannan and Madhu Ambat were cinematography.
Manoj Bharti acted in many films after ‘Taj Mahal’. Some of his other films, for which he will be remembered the most, include ‘Kadal Puqal’, ‘Ali Arjun’, ‘Viman’ and ‘Manadu’.
After being an actor in the Tamil film industry for almost 20 years, Manoj Bharti stepped into direction with ‘Margaji Thingle’ in 2023. The film featured his father Bharti Raja in the lead role. Also, the new artists were Shyam Selvan and Rakshana. The music of the film was given by Ilaiyaraja.
Many political leaders, actors and professionals of the film industry have expressed grief over the sudden demise of the actor and director.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said in his condolence message, “I felt very sad to hear the news of the death of actor and director Manoj Bharti, who is also the son of director Bharti Raja. Manoj Bharti, who was recognized by her father’s film ‘Taj Mahal’, made her identity in many films including ‘Samuthiram’, ‘Ali Arjun’ and ‘Varushamelum Vasantam’ and made her identity in many works including her. The unexpected demise is shocking. I express my deep condolences and consolation towards director Bharti Raja, family and friends in the film industry. “
