After imposing 25 percent tariff on India, Donald Trump said that the tariff is making America again and rich. Trump posted on social trousers and claimed that tariffs have been used against America for decades. Taking a dig at the former US President, he said that due to foolish leaders, the tariff was having a devastating effect on the future and even existence of our country.
Why did Trump call America ‘dead country’?
Donald Trump said that now the situation has changed completely and the US has successfully fought the use of tariffs against them. He said, “America was a dead country a year ago and now it is the best country in the world. Congratulations to the countrymen for this.”
Dead economy told India after putting tariffs
US President Trump on Wednesday (30 July 2025) announced a 25 per cent tariff against India and a fine for its trade with Russia. He said, “I don’t care what India does with Russia. They can take their dead economies in the trough together, I don’t mind. We have done very little business with India, they have very high fees.”
After the announcement of Trump’s tariff, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said in the Lok Sabha that the impact of this move of America is being assessed. He bluntly said that we will take all the necessary steps to protect national interests.
The most rigorous trade policy in India- Trump
Trump said that India has the most rigorous trade policy compared to any country. He said, “Everything is not right, so India will have to pay 25 percent fee from August 1 and a fine for purchase from Russia.” This penalty was imposed because India has purchased a large purchase of oil and military equipment from Russia. India is the first country to face fine for Russian imports.
