Tata partnership with tesla: The Tata AutoCom, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Technologies and Tata Electronics have quietly become the global suppliers of Allen Musk’s company Tesla. According to media reports, the Tata Group has partnered with American company Tesla, which manufactures electric vehicles as a global supplier of components. On the one hand, Tesla is preparing to enter the Indian markets, on the other hand the Tata is preparing itself as a local supplier for the company.

Tesla officials meet with local suppliers

Media reports have also revealed that Tesla officials have met their local suppliers and discussed the development and manufacturing of casting, forging, electronics and fabrication. There are already many Indian companies, which have been supplying many auto components to Tesla. These include Samvardhana Madrasan, Suprajit Engineering, Sona BLW Prohibition forgings, Veroc Engineering, Bharat Forge and Sandhar Technologies.

Tesla looking for options for China and Taiwan

On the condition of anonymity, a source informed ET, Tesla is preparing to create a base of supplier in India. We are sure that once Tesla’s manufacturing unit starts in India, Indian suppliers will get the benefit of sourcing opportunities.

According to sources, Tesla is looking for the options of China and Taiwan for the purchase of auto auto components. These components include wiring harness, electric motor, gearbox, lattice component, casting, sheet metal, sophisticated electronics, suspension system, electric powertrain and ball and ceramic bearing.

Tata Maharath in EV Engineering Service

Autocomm in Tata’s ecosystem makes EV engineering products. Whereas Tata Technology provides outsourced product engineering service as well as digital transformation service and apsculing solution for different products. The TCS supplies the circuit-board technology and the Tata will provide the Chips after becoming an electronics manufacturing unit.

Tesla is also discussing with the governments of several states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Telangana to set up its manufacturing unit in India.
