Tata group has sought 80 acres of land from the Gujarat government to expand its chip plant in Dholera Gujarat

Tata semiconductor chip plant: The Tata Group and Taiwan’s company Parvarchip Semcover Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC) is working to create semiconductor fabrication facility at Dholera, Gujarat. To further increase this mega semiconductor chip plant, the Tata Group has sought 80 acres from the Gujarat government. Its information has been given in the Business Standard report. Earlier, the Gujarat government had allotted 20 acres of land to the company.

Land will be used in this work

According to the information given in the report, quarters will be made by Tata Electronics to use this additional land for about 4,000 employees. According to information quoted by sources, this housing facility will have many other facilities like studio apartments, shopping complex, sports ground. Apart from this 100 acre land, the Gujarat government had also promised to give 63 acres of land to Tata Electronics for the expansion of the plant in Dholera as required.

The plant will be started from 2027

The Dholera Semiconductor plant is India’s first chip fabrication unit, which was approved by the Central Government in February last year. The Dholera plant is part of the Center’s Bharat Semiconductor Mission. According to the Business Standard report, the operation at the semiconductor chip plant will start from 2027. The Tata Group has to spend more than Rs 91,000 crore to build this chip fabrication unit in Dholera. While the price of land is about 200 crores. The company will spend Rs 15,710 crore on plant and other facilities.

Semiconductor chip is used in all electronic products like laptop, household appliances, data centers, vehicles. It is a kind of electronic device made of silicon, which is used for data processing. The semiconductor has the properties of both electric conductor and the conductor. It works to control electric current. They operate from controlling of a product or gadget to memory function.
