Tata Nexon Vs Kia Sonet: Which SUV is more powerful in terms of safety, mileage and style? Know the difference here

The compact SUV segment has become the most liked segment in the Indian auto market. There is a fierce competition between Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet in this segment. Both the vehicles are less than 4 meters in length and are designed keeping in mind those customers who want a good combination of style, features and performance.   • Tata Nexon is available in trims like Smart, Pure, Creative and Fearless in the Indian market. Its starting ex-showroom price is around Rs 7.32 lakh, which goes up to Rs 14.15 lakh in the top variant. On the other hand, Kia Sonet comes in a total of 9 trims from HTE to X-Line. Its price starts from Rs 7.30 lakh and goes up to Rs 13.65 lakh. In terms of price, both the vehicles appear to be almost at par.

Engine options and performance

Tata Nexon has three engine options, which include petrol, diesel and CNG. Apart from being powerful, petrol and diesel engines also offer different transmission options. At the same time, Kia Sonet also comes with petrol and diesel engines, in which the option of turbo petrol makes it more sporty. Many options are available in Sonet from manual to DCT and automatic transmission.

Who is ahead in mileage?

Talking about mileage, the diesel variant of Tata Nexon gives a mileage of around 24 km per litre, while the petrol variant claims around 17 km per litre. Kia Sonet is also not behind in this matter. Its diesel variant gives a mileage of about 24.1 km per liter and the petrol variant gives a mileage of about 19.2 km per liter.

Features and safety

  • Tata Nexon is considered stronger in terms of safety. It has many airbags, electronic stability control and advanced safety features. Whereas Kia Sonet is known for its premium cabin, large touchscreen, ventilated seats and connected car technology. If your priority is safety and strong build, then Tata Nexon is a better option. At the same time, if you want a stylish look and more technology features, then you may like Kia Sonet more.
