In the affordable budget segment of electric cars in India, two names are most discussed, which include the names of MG Comet EV and Tata Punch EV. Both these affordable EVs come with BaaS option and both the vehicles target different types of customers. If you are planning to buy either of these two vehicles, then it is important for you to know which vehicle is better to buy in terms of price and features?

Price and battery rental of both EVs

The first car is MG Comet EV, which is considered more cheap. Its starting price starts from around Rs 4.99 lakh BaaS, while its price including battery starts from around Rs 7.62 lakh. Apart from this, if we talk about another car Tata Punch EV, its price with BaaS starts from around Rs 6.49 lakh and including battery, its price starts from around Rs 9.69 lakh. However, the battery rental in Punch EV is around Rs 2.60 per kilometre, which is less than around Rs 3.20 per kilometer in Comet EV. Therefore, for those who drive a lot, Punch EV may prove to be cheaper in the long run.

Design and size

Talking about design and size, Tata Punch EV is a micro SUV, hence its size is bigger and it gets more space and better road presence. Whereas MG Comet EV is a small city car, which has been specially designed keeping in mind the city congestion and easy parking. If a person travels a lot with family then Punch EV may be more practical.

Range of both vehicles

Along with this, Tata Punch EV appears ahead in terms of range also. Once fully charged, it can give a range of about 315 to 421 km, while MG Comet EV claims to run about 230 km. Therefore, if you have to travel long distances then Punch EV can be more useful. In such a situation, if your budget is low and you want an electric car for short distances then MG Comet EV is better, whereas if you want range, bigger size and more space for the family, then Tata Punch EV can prove to be more value-for-money.
