TCS Layoffs: The country’s largest IT service company TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) has announced the layoffs. The company says that in the next financial year 2025-26, about 2 percent (more than 12,000 jobs) can be cut in its number of employees.
This move of the company is mainly likely to affect the employees of middle and senior management levels. After this announcement of TCS after Microsoft (Announcement of Sorting of 10000 employees) and Intel (Sorting of 24000 employees), questions are now being raised whether companies are low in the number of workers due to Artificial Intelligence (AI)?
Why is TCS going to trim?
According to a report by Reuters, this Tata Group company is preparing to take entry in the new market, so AI is being adopted by increasing investment on new technology. New staff will be taken again for all this, they will be trained, but for the time more than 12000 employees will be removed from work as it is part of this process. Companies are doing cost cutting in this era of restructuring.
According to the Reuters report, the TCS says that the plan of this change is being made with full care that it can ensure that the services provided to our customers do not affect.
Lateral hiring can be done
Earlier this month, the business year 2025-26 announced its results of the first quarter (April-June) of TCS Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer (Chro) Milind Lakkad said that the number of staff was 6,13,069 at the end of the first quarter. He said, more than 5,000 employees have been trimmed during this quarter. We have accepted all the job proposals and we will continue to do the same in the rest of the year. Lateral hiring will be re -adjusted based on the forecast of demand.
He had said that the company will increase investment in business to keep walking with its customers with the changing needs of technology.
