India Odi Captain Shubman Gill: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the ODI team for the tour of Australia. Shubman Gill has been made the new captain of the team. At the same time, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are also included in the squad. Shreyas Iyer has been made the vice -captain of India’s ODI team.

Shubman Gill became captain in place of Rohit Sharma
The BCCI has created the new captain of the ODI team Shubman Gill. After Rohit Sharma’s Test and retirement from T20 International, now the captaincy of ODI has been taken away from him. Team India played the last ODI match in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 on 9 March. India won this tournament under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, but even after this, Rohit has been removed from the captaincy and Shubman Gill has been made the captain of the ODI team.
Shreyas Iyer became vice -captain
After being out of the Asia Cup, Shreyas Iyer has been included in the ODI team. Iyer has been made the vice -captain of the team in the series against Australia. Shreyas Iyer Champions Trophy was also part of the team in 2025.
Jasprit Bumrah out
Jaspreet Bumrah has not been included in the team for the three -match ODI series against Australia. But the squad selected for the T20 series includes Bumrah. Bumrah has been rested for the ODI series. Bumrah has been playing continuously with Team India for a long time.

The three -match ODI series between India and Australia will begin on October 19. This series will run from 19 October to 25 October.
