India Vs New Zealand 4th T20I Match: The Indian team will not show any laxity in the fourth T20 International match against New Zealand to be held in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, January 28, in which it will also expect good performance from the spinners. Kuldeep has taken only two wickets in two matches and has failed to impress. He conceded 9.5 runs per over. In the last match also, Kuldeep bowled three expensive overs in which he gave 32 runs. Thanks to the brilliant bowling of Jasprit Bumrah, Ravi Bishnoi and Hardik Pandya, India restricted the Kiwi team to 153 runs for nine wickets.
Eyes on Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakraborty
Kuldeep had also not performed well in the earlier ODI series, in which he had taken three wickets in three matches and given 7.28 runs per over. Chakravarthy was rested in the last match but in the first two matches his bowling did not show the edge for which Varun is known. In this context, India will consider whether Bishnoi (2 wickets for 18 runs in Guwahati) should be retained in the team in the fourth match and Chakraborty should be brought back in his place to give rest to Kuldeep. India will also keep a close eye on the fitness of all-rounder Axar Patel, as he has not been able to play since the first match in Nagpur due to a finger injury. In this series, India is trying to reach its peak in the bowling department before the World Cup but currently there seems to be no match for it in batting.
Amazing performance by Indian batsmen in T20 series
Indian batsmen have performed brilliantly in this series. In the third match, India had won in only 10 overs. Abhishek has scored at a strike rate of over 300, while Suryakumar and Kishan have maintained a strike rate of around 230. The statistics of the last two matches represent the aggressiveness of India’s batting. India played only 25.2 overs while chasing 209 and 154 runs (total 363 runs) in the second and third T20 Internationals respectively. If we pay attention to the nature of the Visakhapatnam pitch and the effect of dew, then the story of this match will also be no different.
Sanju Samson’s poor form a matter of concern for India
The only matter of concern for India in this series has been the poor form of Sanju Samson. He has been able to score only 16 runs in three matches at an average of 5.33, due to which questions have started being raised about his place in the team. However, with Tilak Verma out due to injury, the team management may give Sanju another chance to prove himself. The team management may also consider fielding Sanju at number three. If this happens then Kishan will open the innings with Abhishek.
New Zealand bowlers proved expensive in T20 series
For New Zealand, which performed brilliantly in the ODI series, nothing has been good so far in the T20 series. Their batsmen batted well at times but the bowlers failed to respond to the aggressive attitude of the Indian batsmen. This can be gauged from the fact that Jacob Duffy is their most economical bowler while his economy rate is 10.30. Its other bowlers Matt Henry (13.80), Kyle Jamieson (14.20), Mitchell Santner (13.14) and Ish Sodhi (12.50) have completely failed to trouble the Indian batsmen.
Can send Darryl Mitchell up to bat
New Zealand can send Darryl Mitchell, who is in excellent form, up the batting order in this match. Mitchell played an important role in helping his team win by performing brilliantly in the ODI series, but in the T20 series, he was sent to the lower middle order, on which questions are being raised. If New Zealand has to register victory before the World Cup, its bowlers will have to perform well. This important department remains a matter of concern for him.
