The Indian cricket team will tour Ireland this year. After IPL 2026, a series of 3 T20 matches will be played between India and Ireland. India vs Ireland T20 series will be played in July this year. Ireland Cricket’s Director of High Performance Graham West confirmed that the Ireland team has already qualified for the 2028 T20 World Cup, so Paul Stirling’s departure from the captaincy means that a new captain will have a chance to establish himself in the next two years. Along with this, he told that the Irish team is setting out on a new journey from June this year, when it has to play a T20 series with India.
Let us tell you that immediately after the conclusion of IPL 2026, the Indian team has to play a Test match and a series of 3 ODI matches with Afghanistan. The last match of India vs Afghanistan ODI series will be played on 20th June. The Indian team’s tour of England is going to start from July 1. The India vs Ireland T20 series has not been announced yet, but it is being speculated that the Indian team will leave for England after playing the series in Ireland.
Till now in history, Team India has played T20 series on Ireland tour thrice and on all three occasions, India has defeated Ireland in its own home. A total of 8 T20 matches have been played between India and Ireland so far and Team India has won every time. Their last encounter was in the 2024 T20 World Cup, when after bowling out Ireland for 96 runs, Team India won the match by 8 wickets with 46 balls remaining.
