Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was on Israel tour, said in clear words that terrorism cannot be accepted under any circumstances. He said that India and Israel have been standing shoulder to shoulder in opposing terrorism and its supporters and will continue to do so in future also. This statement given from Israeli soil is being considered as a strong message for Pakistan.
‘Terrorism cannot be accepted’
PM Modi said that terrorism has no place in the world. He reiterated that India and Israel together will stand strongly against terrorism. He also said that India has direct interests in peace and stability in West Asia, hence India has been advocating dialogue and peaceful solution from the beginning. The Prime Minister said that the Gaza Peace Plan has paved the way towards peace. He discussed regional and global issues in detail with the Israeli leadership.
‘It is a matter of pride to come to Israel’
PM Modi thanked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the warm welcome given to him and the Indian delegation. He said that 9 years ago he had the privilege of becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel and it is a proud and emotional experience to be here once again. He also expressed gratitude for the honor received by the Israeli Parliament.
Relations got the status of ‘Special Strategic Partnership’
The Prime Minister said that India-Israel relations are based on deep trust, democratic values and human sensitivities. Both the countries have decided to give the status of ‘Special Strategic Partnership’ to their partnership.
Cooperation in trade, technology and defense
PM Modi said that BTA agreement was signed last year to increase mutual investment and FTA will be finalized soon. Describing technology as the center of partnership, he said that an agreement has been reached regarding the use of UPI in Israel. Decades-old cooperation in the defense sector will be further strengthened. Both countries will move forward in transfer of technology and joint production.
Focus on agriculture and innovation
A target has been set to take the number of ‘Centers of Excellence’ established in India with the cooperation of Israel to 100. Work is also being done on ‘Village of Excellence’, so that Israeli technology can reach the villages of India and farmers can benefit. India-Israel Innovation Agriculture Center and India-Israel Academic Forum will also be established in India.
