Natural Ways To Maintain Testosterone Levels: Testicles: This part of the male body is often associated with only one function: making sperm. But the truth is much bigger than this. The testicles and the scrotum that protects them are part of a very complex and important system of the body. The scrotum is a sac of skin located beneath the penis, within which both the testicles are protected. These two not only produce and store sperm, but also produce and release the male hormone testosterone, which is responsible for many physical changes like deepening of voice, development of muscles, beard growth and sexual ability.

What is testosterone?

Testosterone is an essential male hormone, which is mainly produced in the testicles. According to Mayoclinic, which provides information about health, it is not just a hormone related to sexual ability, but plays a role in many important functions of the body. Testosterone plays an important role in maintaining the strength of bones, balancing fat in the body, strength and size of muscles, growth of facial and body hair, formation of red blood cells, physical relationship drive and sperm production. This hormone helps in developing and maintaining physical characteristics in men.

When is it produced the most in the body?

Generally, testosterone levels are at their peak during adolescence and early adulthood. After this, it gradually starts decreasing with increasing age. After the age of 30 or 40, a decline of about 1 percent every year is considered normal. But not every decline can be considered a part of normal ageing. In some cases, low testosterone can also be a sign of a disease, which is called hypogonadism. This condition occurs when the testicles or the pituitary gland that controls them does not function properly and is unable to produce sufficient amounts of hormones.

What changes occur due to this?

Many changes can be seen in men due to low testosterone. Problems like decreased sexual desire, decline in natural erections during sleep or infertility may arise. At the physical level, increased body fat, decreased muscle strength, weakening of bones, swelling or tenderness in the breasts and loss of body hair are also possible. Many people feel lack of energy. Emotional effects can also be seen, such as decline in self-confidence, sadness, difficulty in concentrating or weak memory. However, it is not necessary that all these symptoms are only due to low testosterone. Side effects of medicines, sleep apnea, thyroid problems, diabetes or depression can also cause such symptoms.
