This temple of Lord Shiva was built by the kings of the Khmer Empire of Cambodia between 9-12 centuries.

How started a luxurious clash between the two countries

On Thursday (July 24, 2025), a sudden fire began between the soldiers of Cambodia and Thailand. The shelling took place on Wednesday (July 23, 2025) due to the landmine of five soldiers of Thailand. These five soldiers are seriously injured. The Thailand Army alleged that this landmade has been imposed by Sunrag Cambodia. Cambodia accused these land mines of laying in disputed areas, as the 1962 International Court of Justice (ICJ) is under the jurisdiction of the Vihar-Vihar temple Cambodia under a decision by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), but Thailand has occupied the surrounding areas. Citizens of Cambodia want to go to this temple for worship. This is not possible due to the presence of Thai soldiers around the temple. Just about this, both countries have been clashed for the last several decades and soldiers of both countries have become face to face on the long border more than 800 km.

Rockets and mortar attacks were carried out on behalf of Cambodia, targeting the areas of Thailand. Cambodia attacked a gas station in Thailand using the Russian BM-21 rocket. In retaliation, Thailand launched an air strike with an F-16 fighter jet at two military camps in Cambodia. Cambodia also claimed to kill Thailand’s F-16, which was rejected by the Thai Army.

Six killed and more than a dozen injured in attack so far

Firing was going on in at least half a dozen areas between the two countries till the afternoon of Thursday (July 24, 2025). According to reports, at least six citizens have lost their lives and more than a dozen have been injured.

Conditions of conflict were also made at the beginning of the year

Since February this year, there are situations of conflict between the two countries. In the month of February, some Cambodian women had reached the Shiva temple in the disputed area with soldiers for worship. Here he also sang the national anthem of Cambodia. The Thailand army also lodged a protest on this and gradually the tension between the two countries increased.

The current tension began on May 28, a Cambodian soldier died in a clash on the border. This incident took place in an area called Emerald Triangle. The controversy increased when the young woman Prime Minister Shinavatra of Thailand had to resign from her post in the border dispute. Shinwatra had held his own army responsible for the clash while talking to a former Prime Minister of Cambodia to resolve the border dispute. The audio of Shinavatra’s phone call was leaked.

Thailand and Cambodia, associated with the ASEAN ie South-East Asian countries’ organization, have announced to recall their ambassadors from each other after military clashes. Also, the armies of the two countries have sealed the 800 km long border so that the movement of citizens can be stopped.

Cambodia banned imports from Thailand, Thailand training to common citizens

Cambodia has stopped imports of fruits, vegetables, fuel and gas from Thailand. Apart from this, Thai films and TV shows have been banned and some international internet and power supply links have also been discontinued. Cambodia has made military training mandatory for every citizen this month after seeing the military dispute with Thailand. After the latest dispute with Thailand, citizens will have to take military training so that people can protect the country if needed.
