South superstar Thalapathy Vijay has said goodbye to his film career. The actor’s last film is ‘Jana Nayakan’ which will hit the big screen in January next year. Earlier on 27th December, the audio launch event of ‘Jana Nayakan’ was hosted in Malaysia. During this, the actor appeared quite emotional and described his last film as ‘painful’.
Vijay Thalapathy has decided to leave acting and focus on politics. Last year he launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Now the actor is preparing to contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu state elections. According to Pinkvilla, Thalapathy Vijay said about his last film ‘Jana Nayakan’ – ‘I don’t know whether I should say this or not, but my last film was a bit painful, isn’t it? what do you want me to do?’

‘People come to theaters to see me…’
Thalapathy Vijay also talked about his decision to leave film career and focus on politics. The actor said- ‘Only one thing matters to me. People come to theaters and stand there to see me. That is why I am ready to stand for them for the next 30-33 years. Thalapathy Vijay further says- ‘I have had to face all kinds of criticism since the first day. But my fans have stood with me since the beginning. I had entered the cinema with the hope of building a small sand house, but you gave me a palace.


Release date and star cast of ‘Jana Nayakan’
Vijay’s last film will be released in theaters on January 9, 2026. This film has been directed by H. Vinod. Artists like Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamita Baiju, Gautam Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narayan, and Priyamani will also be seen in important roles in the film.
