After Mumbai in Maharashtra, now Metro is coming in Thane district. Shiv Sena chief and deputy CM Eknath Shinde has informed that the trial run of the metro will be held in September and this year the journey of the metro will also start to the general public. Not only this, Eknath Shinde targeted former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and said that some people showed the dream of metro to Thane dwellers, but did not fulfill.
Eknath Shinde said that the dream remained only a dream. The ground could never be done at the ground level, but now the dream of metro service in Thane is going to be a reality soon. Trial runs will be completed by September and metro services will be started from December.
Eknath Shinde said, “The people of Thane had been waiting for the metro service for a long time. Now this wait is going to end. In December, the doors of the metro will open for the passengers. This will not only reduce traffic problem, but people will also get comfortable and safe travel experience.”
Eknath Shinde targeted opposition
Eknath Shinde also targeted Congress and former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan. He said that the previous government had claimed to bring the metro, but the people of Thane did not get any facility. “When we and our MLAs demonstrated, the metro work started here. The opposition only showed dreams, but today the metro is going to be really going to be found.”
‘Construction on war footing’
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the metro construction work is moving fast. He said that it is our endeavor to successfully complete the trial run in September and start service in December. For this, all agencies are working on a war footing.
Inauguration of internal metro network
Shinde also informed that the initial work of Thane’s internal metro network has also started. This network will provide integrated transport system to passengers by connecting with main metro lines. This will increase the convenience of movement in different areas of Thane and the traffic pressure of the city will be reduced to a great extent.
Big step towards the development of the city
Experts believe that with the introduction of metro service, the real estate market in Thane will also get a boost and the connectivity of the city will be better than other parts of Mumbai. Along with this, it will also help in saving time, reduction in traffic jams and reducing pollution. It is expected that after the success of the trial run, passengers will get the facility of metro from December, which will prove to be a big milestone for the development of Thane.
