In such a situation, keeping in mind the family’s thinking and traditions, he thought it best to stay away from films. He also told that Farhan’s family did not want anyone to call their daughter-in-law sexy, so he had to leave his career, his identity and many projects.
Both families were against the marriage
In a podcast given to actor and columnist Dr. Sheen Gurib, Pooja told that when there was talk of her and Farhan’s marriage, questions were being raised on her career. Both the families were against this marriage. In such a situation, he left acting and devoted his entire time to his family and raising his two children.
However, they got divorced after 10 years of marriage. After the divorce, the responsibility of both son and daughter fell on Pooja’s shoulders. At that time Pooja was only 32 years old. His mother was no more and his father had remarried. Still, he started working without any help. Neither took any share in her husband’s property nor took any alimony.
Talking about not taking alimony, Pooja said, ‘Filing a case in the court would have created bitterness in the family and affected the children, so I thought it better to make a fresh start without any financial help.’ Let us tell you that Pooja Bedi’s daughter Alaya Furniturewala has also become an actress. Like her mother, she is also extremely glamorous. Pooja is very active on social media and has millions of followers.
