Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Bengal files have finally been released in theaters and is considered to be one of the boldest films ever. The story of the film travels between yesterday and today, which brings the truth of Direct Action Day on 16 August 1946 to everyone.
The film started slow at the box office, but now it has gained momentum on the strength of the audience. On the weekend, the film has recorded a great growth of +111% and has earned more than 10.13 crore rupees in India.

The continuous and tremendous lead of the film ‘The Bengal Files’ shows its deep engagement and strong hold with the audience. Despite the slow start on Friday due to festivals, Ganpati immersion, heavy rains and floods, the film has shown an edge in its earnings, giving a glimpse of group-booking during ‘The Kashmir files’.
The ‘The Bengal files’ in the theater increased from 15-20% on Friday to 60-70% across India in the Sunday evening show. The evening shows were houseful in big cities like Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai and Bangalore, due to which many theaters have increased the number of shows from Monday.

‘The Bengal Files’ has performed brilliantly at the box office. The film collected a collection of Rs 2.18 crore on Friday, Rs 3.35 crore on Saturday, and Rs 4.60 crore on Sunday, which made its weekend total collection to Rs 10.13 crore. From Friday to Sunday, the film recorded a strong growth of 111%. In the international market, the film has grossed Rs 1.50 crore.

The story and direction of The Bengal files is done by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, while it is produced by Abhishek Aggarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. It will feature Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumar in important roles. The film is presented by Tej Narayan Aggarwal and IM Buddha Productions and is part of Vivek’s Files Trillji, including The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files. The film has been released in theaters on 5 September 2025.
