In the first quarter of FY 26 (April-June), the company earned a profit of 25.56 crores. Whereas a year ago, he had a loss of 547.25 crores in the same period. During this period, the company’s operational revenue also increased by 66.3 percent to 3,365 crores, which was Rs 2,023 crore in the first quarter of FY 25. The company’s total income in the June quarter stood at Rs 3,349.08 crore, compared to Rs 2,815.74 crore in the June quarter of the last year.

By the end of the June quarter, the company’s promoters had a 60.79 percent stake in the company. There is no significant share in the company of mutual funds. However, by the end of the June quarter, the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) had 14 percent stake in the company. Foreign portfolio investor (FPIS) had more than 4 percent stake in NMDC Steel.

NDMC Steel Limited is a government company, which is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. The company operates a steel plant 3.0 MTPA in Nagarnar in Chhattisgarh. This steel plant, built at a cost of about 24,000 crores, is ready to make its mark in the hot rolled market with its stock of high-grade hot rolled steel. This will meet the needs of many major consuming sectors. The product mixture of Nagarnar Steel Plant includes low carbon steel, HSLA and dual phase steel and API quality steel, which can be rolled in thickness from 1 mm to 16 mm.
