DGCA New Rules 2025: The government is planning to give a gift to those traveling by air. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has released its new draft guidelines. In which information has been given that now passengers will be able to cancel or modify their tickets within 48 hours of booking the ticket.
No extra fee will be charged for this. If this proposed rule of DGCA is approved, it will directly benefit the passengers traveling by air. Those who want to change or cancel the ticket in case of any emergency. Such people will no longer suffer financial loss.
How will you get benefits under the new rules?
DGCA will provide free modification or cancellation window to air passengers 48 hours after booking the ticket. That is, if the passenger changes his plan within 48 hours of booking the ticket, he will not have to pay any additional fee.
Also, DGCA has directed the airline companies to immediately refund the amount of canceled or modified tickets.
Why are these changes being made?
DGCA often receives complaints from air passengers that airlines charge heavy charges for canceled tickets. Many consumer organizations have also complained in this regard. DGCA has decided to make this change keeping the passengers in mind.
