Congress General Secretary and former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot has launched a scathing attack on the Modi government regarding the Union Budget 2026. Describing this budget as devoid of a ‘reliable roadmap’, Pilot said that it is limited only to election announcements and this has caused huge disappointment to the general public, especially the youth.
Putting the government in the dock on the issue of employment, Sachin Pilot said that the Finance Minister has announced the schemes, but it is not clear how many youth will get work on the ground. He said that the government did not present any transparent data of previous announcements as to how many jobs were created. Today the youth of the country is struggling with ‘under-employment’ and is worried about the future.
The announcements of the Union Budget 2026 have once again disappointed the general public, especially the youth. The Finance Minister has announced many schemes, but in the absence of a clear and reliable roadmap, it is difficult to understand how many and what real employment opportunities there will be for the youth in the coming times.

Ignoring inflation and economic challenges
Criticizing the budget, Pilot said that despite global and domestic economic instability, the government does not have any concrete strategy to control inflation. The common man is already troubled by back-breaking inflation, but no major relief was given to him in the budget.
Neglect of women, farmers and rural economy
The Congress leader alleged that important sections of the society have been ignored in the budget and there is a lack of concrete plans for economic self-reliance. Agriculture was not given the priority it required. Rural Development: The claims of strengthening the rural economy appear hollow and the apathy of the government is clearly visible.
BJP ruled states also ‘cheated’
Sachin Pilot expressed surprise that despite BJP governments in states like Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, no new big project was announced for these states. He described it as a ‘deception’ of the public.
Describing the budget as a failed step towards balanced development, Sachin Pilot has termed it a purely “election budget”, which is far from reality.
