The name of MNREGA scheme will be changed
Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act or MNREGA has been counted among the biggest social security schemes of the country. Its purpose was to provide legal guarantee to the right to work in rural areas. Under the scheme, every such rural family was given employment for at least 100 days in a year. It was started in 2005 under the name of NREGA.
Which was later added to the name of Mahatma Gandhi. Under MNREGA, works like road construction, water conservation, pond digging, horticulture and community development were done. This scheme played an important role in stopping migration, increasing women’s participation and stabilizing rural income. In times of crisis, this scheme emerged as a safety net for the villages.
What will you get in Pujya Bapu Rural Employment Scheme?
Under the new Pujya Bapu Rural Employment Scheme, the government has made two major changes. First, the number of days of guaranteed employment has now been increased from 100 to 125. This means that rural laborers will be assured of getting work for more days in a year. Secondly, the minimum wage has been increased to Rs 240 per day. This will directly improve the daily income of the workers.
The effect of more work and better wages will also be visible on the purchasing power of the villages. Local market, small businesses and agriculture based works will get support from this. The objective of the scheme is that rural laborers should not depend only on assistance. Rather, strengthen your financial position with your own hard work.
