Union Budget 2026: There is not much time left for the Union Budget 2026. In such a situation, everyone from the common people to the states have many expectations from the upcoming budget. Its preparations have also started in full swing from the Central Government, so that the needs of all sections can be kept in mind.

Discussion took place on these issues
During the meeting, many states talked about continuing the special assistance scheme for capital investment. Besides, the need for more allocation for the scheme was also emphasized. State representatives said that, this scheme is helping in accelerating the development works in the states and union territories with legislature.
Through this, new assets are being created and capital investment is also getting strong support. Talking about the figures, till now the Central Government has released more than Rs 4.25 lakh crore for this scheme since the financial year 2020–21.
These states took part
Chief Ministers of Delhi, Goa, Haryana, Jammu-Kashmir, Meghalaya and Sikkim were present in this meeting. The Deputy Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Telangana along with Finance Ministers and other representatives of the states and union territories also attended the meeting. Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary and the Governor of Manipur participated in the meeting.
On behalf of the Central Government, many senior officials of the Finance Ministry also took part in the meeting. These included secretaries of the Department of Economic Affairs, Department of Expenditure and Department of Revenue as well as other officials of the Central and State Governments.
