A very surprising incident happened on Sunday (October 19, 2025) in Paris, the capital of France. Some masked thieves reached the Louvre Museum in Paris riding a scooter and escaped after stealing precious jewelery with the help of a disc cutter. However, the most surprising thing is that the thieves took only seven minutes to steal the precious jewelery from the museum. The theft of jewelery in such a short time has completely shocked everyone.

The Louvre Museum located in Paris is counted among those museums where most people come to visit in the world and the world famous Monalisa painting is also here. The museum was closed after the robbery on Sunday morning (October 19, 2025) French time.

French Home Minister gave information about theft

According to the French news agency AFP, this incident took place in the museum between 9:30 and 9:40 am on Sunday morning, while French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said that the entire incident was carried out in just seven minutes. He said, ‘The thieves entered the museum from outside through a cherry picker (a machine like a hydraulic ladder) and stole valuable jewellery. This entire incident ended in just seven minutes.

The French minister said, ‘This incident was carried out by three to four people together and they targeted two displays of Apollo’s gallery. It is clear that before this incident, recce of the museum was done, which is the work of a professional team and they used disc cutter to cut the glass.

9 jewels stolen from Napoleon and the Queen’s jewelery collection

According to the report of Le Parisien, 9 jewels were stolen from the jewelery collection of Napoleon and the Queen. Among the stolen jewels, a broken jewel was found outside the museum. It is believed that the broken piece of jewelry belonged to the crown of Queen Eugenie de Montijo.

According to reports, three to four thieves used a basket lift to reach the gallery from the façade overlooking the River Seine. Construction work was going on in that part of the museum. They entered inside by cutting the windows with the help of a disc cutter, stole 9 pieces of jewelery and then fled from there.

Mayor of Paris Center gave statement on the incident

Responding to this incident, Mayor of Paris Center Ariel Weil has given a statement. He said, ‘It is shocking that the Louvre Museum was stolen so easily. This is a shock. Till now this was seen only in films. It is difficult to imagine that theft could be so easy in a place like the Louvre.
