According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, there is a Kodiyaji village in the Donnetsk region of Ukraine and the second neighboring Dnipatrovsk region is now under Moscow’s control. According to Ukrainian officials, Russia fired 85 attacker drones and a ballistic missile in the Ukraine region at night.
Prior to the meeting of Trump and Putin in Alaska, Jailonsky said that Moscow had no intention of ending the war. He posted on X and wrote that on the day the trump-Putin meeting is doing Russian murders, which says a lot.
In Alaska, there was talk of ending the war between Putin-Trump, which was two and a half hours long, but there was no compromise on it. Putin called the war tragedy and invited Trump to come to Moscow for the next meeting. There was no consensus on ceasefire between the two leaders. Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky said on Saturday (16 August 2025) that he would meet Trump in Washington on Monday (August 18) after Trump’s summit with Putin.
Even though no final decision has come in the meeting held in Alaska, Trump believes that the issue has started. According to Trump, some points have agreed, but some points are left. He soon talked about talking to Jailonsky and European leaders.
