After the painful murder of an Indian abroad, the entire family is now longing for his last farewell. This is the case of Haryana, where a person has appealed to the government to immediately help in bringing the body of his 30-year-old brother who died in Britain to India.
In a statement given in Chandigarh on November 30, Ravi Kumar said that his brother Vijay Kumar Sheoran was murdered in a road attack in Worcester on November 25 and the family itself is not able to bring his mortal remains to India. He says that this situation is very sensitive and government intervention is necessary for the last rites.
Went abroad 2 years ago
Vijay was originally a resident of Jagarambas village of Badhra in Charkhi Dadri district and had gone to Britain this year for higher education. He was studying at the University of West England in Bristol and left his government job two years ago and went abroad for a better future. West Mercia Police are investigating his murder following the attack in Worcester, while the family is in deep shock in the village as Vijay was unmarried and his loss at home could never be filled.
appealed to the government for help
Ravi Kumar wrote a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs saying that due to complex foreign legal procedures, documentation, administrative rules and financial challenges, it is impossible for the family to make arrangements to bring the body on their own. He has requested the government to immediately issue instructions to the Indian High Commission in Britain so that there is no delay in the process of bringing the mortal remains to India and the family can perform the last rites. He said that in this difficult time there is no other option left for them and government support is the only hope.
Meanwhile, local MLA Sunil Sangwan has also become active in the matter and has written a letter to Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar urging him to take this incident on priority. Sangwan said that the murder has been confirmed and now only the formalities are left to bring the body to India, which is not possible to complete without the help of the Central Government. According to PTI, Ravi Kumar said in a very emotional voice that his family is going through this tragedy and if the government provides assistance on humanitarian grounds, he will be able to bid farewell to his brother.
