Vitamin d deficiency due to pollution: The biggest natural source of vitamin D is sunlight, but do you know that now the rays of the sun are not able to reach us completely. The reason is rapid growing air pollution. In many big cities of India, Air Pollution has made so much effect that the sun’s ultraviolet-b (UVb) rays do not reach our skin, due to which the body is not able to make vitamin D.

A recent report released by ICRER has revealed shocking. About 300 doctors and health experts participated in this program. According to the report, more than 72% of people in Delhi are struggling with vitamin-D deficiency. If there is no alert in time, then problems can increase further.

Pollution is stopping sunlight

It was told in this report that due to pollution, the sun’s ultraviolet rays are facing problems in reaching the sun. Due to which the synthesis of vitamin D in the skin is reduced. The particles and gases present in the polluted atmosphere absorb the sun’s UVB rays, which reduces the natural presence of vitamin D in the body.

Apart from this, due to the pollution level high in urban areas, most people prefer to stay at home, which reduces the time to stay in sunlight.
