After the online gaming bill was passed in the Indian Parliament, Dream 11 had to end its contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Asia Cup 2025 pass is coming, so the pressure on BCCI is also increasing. Meanwhile, NDTV has issued a report that the board is considering bringing a new sponsor for the period of 2025-2028. It is being told that this new sponsorship deal can be about Rs 452 crore.
Dream 11 signed a contract of about Rs 358 crore with BCCI in the year 2023. But due to the new online gaming bill, Dream 11 had to finish the deal a year ago.
Bcci in search of new sponsors
According to NDTV, sources said that BCCI is looking for a new sponsor for the period from 2025 to 2028. During this, Team India will play around 140 matches. If this happens, it will be a better deal than Dream11 in terms of money. This sponsorship deal will be applicable not only for domestic and abroad matches but also to multilateral tournaments organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and International Cricket Council (ICC).
The BCCI has also set an amount of Rs 3.5 crore for each bilateral match. At the same time, a target of Rs 1.5 crore has been kept for each match to be held in ICC and ACC tournaments. This amount will be more than the Dream 11 deal, but the byju’s deal will be less.
How will Team India’s jersey be in Asia Cup?
As far as the Asia Cup is concerned, BCCI wants to approve the name of the new sponsor before that, but time is running, so before the Asia Cup, Team India’s jersey may not get a new sponsor. But the deal can be decided before the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.
