Joe Root has created history in the India-England Third Test being played at Lord’s. He has become the first player to complete 3,000 runs against India in Test cricket. He had already recorded the record of scoring the most runs against India in Red-Ball format. Root has achieved this position in his 60th Test innings against India. He created history as soon as he scored 45 runs in Lord’s Test.
Before the Lord’s Test match started, Joe Root scored 2,955 runs in 59 innings against India. In the third Test match, he has achieved this historic position as soon as he added 45 runs in his innings. India played their first Test match about 93 years ago, since then more than 300 players have played Test matches against India. After beating all of them, Joe Root has become the first player to complete 3,000 Test runs against India.
Batsman who scored the most Test runs against India
Joe Root has become players to complete three thousand runs against India. In this list, he is followed by Ricky Ponting in second place, who scored 2,555 runs against Team India. Joe Root’s compatriot Alastair Cook scored 2,431 runs against Team India and Steve Smith has so far scored 2,356 runs against India. The list also includes Clive Lloyd of the West Indies, who scored 2,344 runs against India in Test career.
